Mrs. Hallenbeck is the most awful teacher I have ever had. She doesn't explain any of the content, doesnt use the textbook, all she does is hand out worksheets that you are expected to complete without any help from her. She is very unorganized, doesn't post assignments on school loop until months later. The only forms of tests she gives are Pop quizes, which you have no time to prepare for. She behaves in an agressive way towards misbehaving students and has cussed at students
Absolutely phenomenal! I have learned copious amounts of information from this inspiring teacher. She not only has a passion for chemistry, but she also has a talent for teaching and is a very critical thinker. I am in university now, and I have to say, she taught so much better than my current professor. If you attend Livermore High, it is a must to take her class.
The only way you won't learn something in her class is if you don't pay attention, which most people easily get away with because she is a bit absent minded. But she loves her subject and she loves teaching students that care. Only, most students don't care. And she far and away knows more about her subject than most teachers do.
I had her for Chem and AP Chem. Really liked her class. A bit of an unorthodox teaching style but if you read the book and do all the examples you will be fine. She is really easy to get along with an
She is a little out of the box. Her teaching method is unorthodox but if you can follow along in the book and ask questions you should be fine. Pay very close attention to everything she says.
talks way to fast, talks to much. She is always in a rush and never puts the homework on the board. Also she doesn't collect things until about 3 weeks after we do them.
She believes in UFOs and made us watch a video about them and shes kinda crzay
She's extremely unorganized, always rushing into things unprepared. She knows a lot about chem but doesn't really teach She stressed me out to where my doctor told me I needed to get out of her class.
Very nice, but likes to either lecture ad infinitum or assign worksheets without explaining the material first. Pay attention or read the textbook until you really feel you understand everything.
She's a wonderful person, and honestly, she knows loads about chemistry. She is easily distractable, but she hasn't lost anyone's test yet, so that's good. She can be repetitive to a fault, though.
Most dysfunctional teacher Ive ever had, but this was the only chem class ive taken before college, and she somehow managed to prepare me really well: I aced first quarter college chemistry.
...Yea have not learned a thing about chemistry... if you have her i recommend switching classes...
Hallenbeck has two dreams for her life: that her students meet at coffee shops to study chemistry, and that all the mercury in the world would simply disappear. Sweet woman, not so great teacher.
I struggled with her AP Chemistry class since she was incredibly unorganized and she seldom covered material. I had to teach myself out of the book weeks before the exam. I don't know how I passed.
shes a good teacher all you have to do is read the book. go in afterschool or at lunch she is really helpful. her tests are just preparing you for college and stuff.
Tells us nothing about the tests. She loses hw and labs. Nice person...bad...BAD teacher.
Mrs. Hallenbeck expects us to know and learn all sorts ofinfo and she doesnt teach it. She expects us to learn and teach ourselves. Sorry but I thought that is what she is here for
Poor Mrs. Hallenbeck. Such a nice lady, but chemistry with her is...well, words can't describe the immense boredom. She is so disorganized...I feel bad for her.
Sometimes she can be very fustraating. I like chemistry a lot, but I didn't do very well in it because her tests are worth so much and she doesn't really prepare us for them.
She's nice and goofy, but scatterbrained. I have no idea what's going on or what's due, but when I fall behind, she's eager to help you. If you make the effort, you can get an A.
She is ok. As most people have said better organization would be good. I think for many people this is the first class that takes a lot of personal effort.
Nice enough teacher, but just requires a little more organization, especially for a chemistry class. Related to that, the homework was also horrendous amounts.
Gives tests that you only told about one day in advance with unclear instructions that calculate about 70% of your grade. She's nice, but disorganized.
Not very helpful in terms of letting me know about hw and stuff, but shes really smart. I've learned a lot of chem from her so far!
AWFUL!!! Difficult, rude; I don't know how to discribe her, but you don't want her. THE WORST SCIENCE "TEACHER" AT LHS!!!
She definately knows her stuff and is a nice person, but she needs to not rely so much on the book to teach us. Also needs to be more careful with fire...
She's not the best teacher there is but people need to cut her some slack. Those who complain are probably not paying attention anyways.
Every time i go to this class, my IQ drops 25 points. I honestly think she hates her job and intends on making our lives just as bad. Enough said.
All around a good teacher. She knows her stuff and is always willing to help, but she can be scatterbrained.
She acts kind of like a dumb blonde and is a little out there (like most science teachers) but she's really smart, and you'll learn a lot if you pay attention.
she made me hate chemistry!!! can't explain ANYTHING can't relate to ANYONE incapable of inspiring her dog buddy, let alone students!
MOOD SWINGS! Always in a bad mood. MOST IMPATEINT TEACHER! refers always to bad students as acting like freshman
alright, but unorganized, never gives enough study time for quizzes, and depends on the book to teach us.
