I gotta say, my initial feeling towards Mrs. Shcultheis weren't too positive. She seemed intimidating, but I quickly grew to love and appreciate her. She is incredibly dedicated to her teaching and her students, and although the class and challenging and she constantly challenges the students, it is so worth it. You need to take this class; it's a game changer
Every once in a while there is that educator in your son or daughter's life that makes a difference in their personal perspective and their future success. Mrs. Kathy Schultheis is that teacher. AP/Honors English III is often termed "a badge of courage" and one of the toughest classes at Oak Park High School, and worth every minute in the classroom. She will be a life changer in your son or daughter's writing ability, thought processing and life perspective. A+ educator
One of the most sincere and caring teachers I've ever had the pleasure of having. She teaches you so much and expands your knowledge and appreciation for english and writing immensely! Take the class, most people who put in the required effort and complete some extra credit finish the class with an A!
Mrs. Schultheis was the best thing that happened to my kid. During the year, would constantly be exhausted from studying for the challenging quizzes. But in the end was excellently prepared for the AP test and in her senior year received immense help from the very caring, genuine teacher, who helped with many essays and apps. She is the best teacher at Oak Park, and an even better person.
Mrs. Schultheis is one of the best teachers at Oak Park. I would have gone for 11th grade just to have her. She is hard on you during the year, challenges you to be your ultimate best. You may think it impossible at times, but it is worth it when you take your AP exam, which is one of the easiest if you've had her. She also dedicates much time into helping you with EVERYTHING, college apps-related and more, in your senior year. Take her class, you will not regret it when the year is over!!
Mrs. Schultheis is one of the most genuinely caring and sincere teachers at Oak Park. Her class is most definitely the most difficult English class at OP, but the hundreds of hours that Schultheis puts into staying after school with her students speaks to her dedication to helping her students get through their first year of AP English. After taking her class, the AP English exam is a piece of cake and even the SAT essay is easier.
Ms. Schultheis is extremely knowledgeable and you can tell she really cares about what she teaches. BUT, she made my junior year a mess of anxiety and stress. Not that I had unbearable amounts of work, but she was always rude to me when I went to her 7th period and she barely ever helped me personally with my writing. She honestly made me cry multiple times. I did learn, because as I said she is very knowledgeable, but I would not take her class again.
In my experience, I have never been so distraught over the fact that she had a total disregard for her students feelings or person opinions. Instead of helping a student who doesn't understand the prompt, she berates them and belittles there ability to understand a difficult assignment. Overall, doesn't like students who come from CP courses. Only favors students who give "philosophical" opinions. And I have an A in her class from self teaching. No thanks to her.
Schultheis is one of the most intelligent and caring teachers at the school. Though she may seem harsh initially she truly cares about her students and warms up to you. The class is not hard if you learn to do the busy homework efficiently. The essays will make you am amazing writer and do awesome on the AP test. She teaches because she loves her students and wants to help them succeed and get into college. MUST TAKE!
Mrs. Schultheis is the best English teacher at the school, hands down. Her class seems very hard but she does an incredible job of preparing you for the AP exam. She is truly passionate about her work and her students and it shows through the huge amount of time that she puts into them. Absolutely love her.
Wrinkly old prune who if a feminist advocate to the extreme. Great teacher, good person, but horrible decisions.
Mrs. Schultheis is a wonderful teacher but her class is very hard. The mini-essays make it hard to bring your grade up but after taking her class you probably could get a 12 on the SAT essay and maybe even write a book. She's also really helpful.
Mrs. Schultheis is one the BEST teachers I probably will ever have. She is SO INTELLIGENT and is an incredibly sweet person. If you take her class, you will be prepared, hands down. Love her!
I hated Ms. Schultheis with a passion--never have i EVER had a teacher that I disliked as much as her. English used to be my favorite subject; not anymore. Run if you can; you'll thank me.
She is basically one of the best teachers I have ever had...She is SO INTELLIGENT and is an incredible teacher (and really nice)! Yay Schultheis :D :D
Amazing teacher and very smart. One of the very best. Loves her subject matter and the enthusiasm shows in her work. Class is hard and for kids who love and English seriously. Not a class for slac
The thing about AP English with Schultheis is that you really have to LIKE English to like the class. That's the entire point of taking her class in her eyes. I have an A because I do enjoy the class.
Hard class....like really hard. We barely get any time to write the essays she gives us everyday. She is a great English teacher and you really learn how to write from her.
Mrs. Schultheis is a great teacher. She may seem a little weird, but things get better with time. After having the Schultinator in 11th, having Enoch in 12th is a nice change.
she makes us write essays every day, and we have to turn them in that very day, we only get like 30 mins to do it!!
you might think she's weird at first, but overall she's a really good teacher and she definitely grows on you and prepares you for what you need to know
You will appreciate Mrs. Schultheis & her class immensely when you enroll in your first college english course!
hey she loves eminem! the smartest teacher on campus...also the most dedicated.
