Mean, bad administrator
i love this woman. if any of you complaining saps ever sat in her office longer than 3 seconds, you'd know that she works harder than most of your easy A+ goofball teachers, and gets less in return. and "picking favorites" occurs when 95% of the class refuses to engage in discussion.
Dull, boring, simplistic. Had her last yr., hated her. Why is she teaching? OOOPS she's not!
She picks favorites. Her class discussions are insightful but has no use in the essay we would later write about the book. Most of the busy work she gives out does not help increase a student's literary comprehension or writing abilities for the AP lit exam.
She tends to put her own opinions into the lessons and grade your work based on whether or not she agrees with it, but overall she's a good teacher and you can learn alot in her class.
I dont even know where to begin with her. If you have any ability to analyze a book, looking past the most simplisitc and obvious elements, then you willl NOT do well in her class. She can't understadn a single thing, but pretends that she can. Ugh. Why is she teaching AP Lit?!
a nice person, perhaps, but soooo boring. yawn.
Unread, unhelpful--y is she teaching?
Ms. Houlihan is a great teacher, a bit picky, but a great person and a great teacher nontheless. I learned alot of new words in her class, though her analysis of things is bogus-ly long...yet amusing.
