Very difficult teacher. Does not help or clarify anything.
Michelson encourages students to think on their own, however, his way of having students teach themselves leads to complications. Students can go weeks thinking they know the material and when the test comes around fail it. This is because he does not clarify on how to use the equations or fully understand concepts. The class did not help me learn physics to the potential I could have learned with another teacher, but it did prepare me for what to expect from a college professor.
Michaelsen is a very, very smart individual. However, he does teach like a college professor, which means he is harder to learn from than any other teacher in the school. My suggestion for him is to easily work with his students in the beginning of the year and increase the difficulty during the mid-year, so that they can at least understand what he is teaching. He is very mean at times and made a girl cry one day...but he is a nice guy. He doesn't teach but uses workbooks and expects us to pass
By far the worst teacher I've ever had, both as a teacher and a person. He is very loud and gets very upset when student's are not understanding the content, taking every chance to poke fun at people. His methods are lousy, I am halfway through the year and we have not had to use our textbook ONCE; he gives us his own made activity books which are awful. There is so much repeated content in those booklets and lots of times the wording is very confusing.
I have him right now in class. The guy knows his stuff, no doubt about it. He's scary smart. As long as you are humble and he sees you trying hard and really working in his class, he will communicate with you. However, he is incredibly condescending, patronizing, and probably The most intimidating teacher ever. His methods are questionable, I hate the work packets, and his exams are ridiculously hard. His idea of "hands on" confuses me more than anything else. 4 kids already dropped in 2 months
Keith Michaelsen is by far the nicest most caring most paternal teacher I have ever seen thus far in my existence. He really prepares you for collage and is in-depth and never contradicts himself.
By far one of the least helpful teachers that I've ever had. He's extremely condescending and definitely plays favorites. If he's so infamous for his poor teaching evident from so many kids dropping a level, then why is he even employed? He's "preparing you for college." My college professors were challenging, but at the very least were clear in what they were teaching. He doesn't teach. He hands you activity guides and calls that teaching. No wonder Gamzon's kids always got higher grades...
Mr. Gregorian-Michaelsen is arguably the smartest individual in the school, but his pedagogical practices are admittedly imperfect. Moreover, Physics is indubitably the hardest class in the school. Nonetheless, if you work hard and advocate for yourself, you will achieve success. Overall, you get out of the class what you put in -- you just have to put in a LOT. In terms of character, I find that he is a very nice person, but at times he can be a bit condescending.
Mr. Michaelsen teaches one of the most difficult subjects I've ever encountered. However, he is very willing to help you after school or before school as long as you approach him with the right subjec
Great guy; awful teacher. Skips over too much material yet tests you on it.. Learn to speak physics and you will pass. Don't and your GPA will greatly suffer. Safe yourself: take L2 Marine Bio
as someone who's currently in college, i can say that his class is one of the few i felt actually prepared me for college classes. he treats his students the same we professors do
has so much knowledge but isn't the greatest teacher. class is very hard and it is very hands w/ computers but he was always willing to help. physics is so boring but he is nice guy.
Great guy, and extremely intelligent, and he can be funny, especially when he makes fun of the annoying kids in class cough cough Keighly. Not a class for anyone who cant learn from hand on activities
A great guy. Very intelligent, but isn't always clear when explaining. Teaches more like a college class which isn't always fair. Form a study group. Trust me it helps
Very bad teacher! doesn't teach anything! if u have him drop him!i was one of 9 in my class alone to drop him! i am so happy i am outta that class!!!
He is the man! He is brilliant and clear about anything dealing with physics. Best teacher yet. I want to study more physics because of him.
I loved him as a person, very caring and friendly. Sometimes he is sarcastic. Tough teacher.
He puts so much thought into the way he teaches. I'm not in any position to question it. He's tough, but awesome.
Hard class...but if you try and meet him on his wave length its alot better. His projects blow though.
Never provided with basis for projects, test, etc. Too pompous to be realistic and answer questions.
great guy, fun class. But beware... it is incredibly hard. His level 3 physics was the first level 3 i couldn't handle. dropped to lev 2 for a passing grade
was in physics club with him, very smart and funny guy
