Doesn't provide explanations or feedback, responds to questions defensively then punches back by picking on students. Unfair, unreasonable, not quite sure why she chooses to be a teacher.

She is really cool and all and dedicated to putting on a good production, but in comparison to other schools and drama programs, this one falls flat. The "advanced" drama class is only putting on children's theater, when students in an advanced class should be getting ready to start college level drama. We are NOT ready for college level drama. The class itself can be difficult, but we aren't given any opportunity to stretch ourselves and push our own limits as actors.

I've learned a lot from Ms. Hartman in my four years as a drama student in her classes. She is strict, but it's only because people don't listen to her. Her direction is excellent when it comes to Ohlone Theater Festival, and the productions she directs are generally of good quality. Overall, her classes are fun if you are a student who is willing to learn and take her criticism as a way to learn.

The real acting world has favorites and if you can't deal with that, you shouldn't be acting. She doesn't sugarcoat things but she is an amazing director and it's worth it. Respect her and get respect

She's not perfect but I like her anyway. Her class isn't easy. It's not supposed to be. Major bias but you get used to it. If you can act, she respects you, otherwise no.
