In general, Ken is a nice man and is very knowledgeable in percussion. That being said, when I was a student, he often picked favorites. He did little to stem bullying in the marching band and I witnessed him victim blame on one occasion. His teaching method is straight forward, but there was little opportunity to move up in the ranks which is the opposite of what I personally experienced when Jay Bach was my director; I am not sure if it was due to him being new or back to the favorite picking.
Oh, KJ...Back when he was still just percussion director, he was pretty nice. Then he took on the full marching band last year. Now, last year with Illusions was nice since it was an awesome show and
he had my other two brothers and he makes for a great freshman year
hes good and fun. before UIL he decided that he didnt want us to use our instruments 2 much so he had us sing our parts and it was really fun and funny to listen to. everybody kept laughing during it.
I was scared of him at first, but he's not too bad. Just don't get on his bad side (like if you talk a lot in band, don't march, etc.). He does pick faves (drumline, quiet kids) but is overall nice.
He's moderately funny and definately good at his job. He's not my personal favorite on the director board, but he is notorious for picking favorites
He's like, the best teacher ever. Seriously. He's awesome. Amazing.
Mr J is just too cool!!! I THINK HE ROCKS!!! He puts up with me even when I am totally random! GO MR J!
Mr. J is awesome. He has alot of patience and is a fun teacher to have. As a brass player, I've learned alot from about things such as air, volume, and precisio
Mr J-man is the BEST! he has shown us all countless paitence during class and in marching. his way of hanging up clothes is halarious, if you dont kno, then ask
whoever didnt like mr. J obviously doesnt know him well. He's the best drumline teacher ever, and even though im in pit i still think he's awesome. rock on! McW
Mr. Johnson is awesome!! Wooh! He has to put up with me for another year though, even thought he was mad that I didn't pass off, he's still my fave.
I have so much respect for Mr. J. He has not only shown me a love for the cymbals, but has also helped show me how to dig down and bring out the best in me.
Mr. Johnson is nice though! He doesn't really yell unless its marching...you must not have him in class...
