With Mr. Skorepa, you love him or hate him. I took his class and excelled, but students who weren't as serious fell and failed. The ones who did this began to hate him as a person as well as a teacher. There were a times I had bias against him due to some offensive things he could say. In this way it was hard to respect his thoughts. However, his knowledge in chemistry and his ability to get people going is amazing. While he may come off as rude, he really is a great guy who cares about students.
This man taught me how to study. He forces you to become an independent thinker. I have never studied so hard for any other class in my life. If I wasn't performing to his expectations, he quickly called my parents. I am grateful for the lessons I learned in his class. He is tough on students, in a good way. He made me consider a chemistry career. Some people think he is being sarcastic, but he is really serious when he says things like "what don't you get" or "why do you think that is correct"
Ken skorepa may have a mental handicap. He belongs in a mental asylum. If you love being insulated daily then i recommend him as a teacher. Ken is very difficult to get along with. He frequently makes refrences to his 7 children and 3 wife's, as well as his multiple jobs he was fired from years ago.
Mr. Skorepa is one of the most difficult teachers to get along with. If you try hard enough you can become civil with him, but in class he comes across as mildly rude and insulting. During class discussions you may be humiliated if you answer a question wrong or are not paying attention. He may also try to get defensive if you correct his mistakes. Overall, watch what you say, do your best to pay attention and do your homework on time.
You either love him or you hate him. You love him if you realize that the only thing you have to do to excel in his class is pay attention and do your homework. You hate him if you're a person who gives up easily. His system doesn't allow slackers to get by easily. If you just do the work, you'll have a good chance, and you'll learn a ton about physics and science in general. I may have learned more in his class than any other class at Riverside.
You will never meet another person quite like Ken Skorepa. A true gem of the high school physics world. Actually, more like a lump of coal in your physics christmas stocking. GPB 4EVA!!!!
Mr. Skorepa is not the worst teacher I have ever had... but he is definetly not the best.
Ken Skorepa is one of the most amazing teachers that I have ever had. He cares so much about the students, its hard to believe sometimes. He is there for the students and doesnt take IDK as an answer!
