Had Leal in 2008 and again in 2010, he is hands down the best teacher I have encountered. If you take his class and "don't get it" or "don't get him" be patient.. Always keep in your mind everything he ever taught you.. because maybe not all at once- but over your lifetime- the lessons he taught will help guide you on the path that will help you reach your best potential as a human being.

He is a hilarious teacher. He teases you, but that's his way of being nice and bringing you into the class. Get on his good side, and he'll grade you well. (Hint: He likes video games and food, especially Gobstoppers) He grades easily in the first place, even if it may seem scary. You'll get tired of pop essays though. He'll teach you to love notes. He is great at what he does, but maybe not teaching. He usually just haves you read or write an essay or do busy work while he reads his own book.

Leal should not teach high school. It's a waste of his talents. I have never felt so much respect for a living person despite his narcissism. He knows his stuff! He helped me SOOO much with my essay writing. He is also the funniest teacher I've ever had. His class is the only class I've ever missed.

Mr. Leal is my favorite teacher of all time. HIs class seems really difficult while you're taking it, but once the grades come in, you realize that he doesn't grade most of the work and just gives you 100. I think that's just because he's too lazy to actually grade it though. He is hilarious and you will definitely enjoy his class. If you by chance do not enjoy his class, it is because you have no sense of humor, are stupid, or have no reason being alive.

He teaches on a level way above high school, from lesson plans to the actual literature. If you actually apply what he teaches you will become a great writer. He can be callous and egotistical though.
