+ Still likes you even if you bomb a test
+ Offers chocolate bars upon receiving the highest grade(s) on a test in the class
+ Very nice and offers help during lunch and after school
+ Very knowledgeable and does everything he can to fuel students' passion and enthusiasm
- He posts his notes onto edline, so that may be a crutch for certain students (Students don't learn to take good notes and discourages textbook reading)
- His handwriting looks like Egyptian hieroglyphics
I love Mr. Slattery! He has made physics very interesting and interactive for me. He is willing to help you with questions and overall a nice guy. No matter how I did on the chapter tests or the AP Physics exam, Slattery will still like me :)
I don't even know where to begin for his handwriting--it's literally the worst handwriting I've ever had to read. Every day I'm sitting in class just wondering what the heck he's writing; I don't understand why he can't just type out his notes instead of forcing us to decipher his stuff. He's awkward, but an overall nice guy. If only his handwriting wasn't so hard to understand.
Easy class. Teacher is nice and helpful but can sometimes go on annoying tangents about life. Would definitely recommend for easy A
I had his AP Physics and I have to say he is one of the best teacher I've ever had! He always put his heart in teaching and being really helpful. Physics is generally a hard class especially AP, but he is very willing to help you if you have any problems . His test has just about 7-8 questions, and 80% are similar to these he gave to you in the practice questions, but the rest 1-2 questions are challenging.(AP phy only) If you really worked on the HW and practice tests you should be fine!
I was having a hard time understanding physics and his hand-writing at first, however Mr.Slattery was always willing to help and made sure we really understands. I love the packet he gave us, it is basically the summary and the less complicated version of the whole chapter. Make sure to pay attention in class, because if you miss something, you will be lost for the rest of chapter.
I LOVE Mr. Slattery. Nicest man on campus. Physics is a rather hard class though. Especially if you take AP. Both classes require studying and a lot of effort. He is a great teacher. He is very interactive with the students and puts 100% into everything he does. His happiness is contagious and he always has a smile on his face. I recommend his class to everyone. You're missing out if you don't get the chance to know him. Great man!!!
The nicest guy you will ever meet!! He always makes sure his students are prepared for his tests and his class is pretty easy if you pay attention!
tries hard, but doesnt actually teach much. he really know his stuff though.
you guys won't realize how good of a teacher he is until you get into college physics. the profs here don't teach and im basically relying on the material that slattery taught me and im glad i remember some. he isn't very clear at teaching but does have good methods and strategies at solving problems. just appreciate him.
I honestly try very, very hard to like Mr. Slattery, but it seems that he tries very hard, but just cannot teach well. His lessons are boring, and he speaks in a monotone. Also, sometimes, I think he gets a little too involved in our personal lives. He's a great person, has a very strong passion for teaching, but just can't teach very well.
He is a very interesting teacher and will definitely inspire you no matter what goals you are trying to achieve. However, he is a tough teacher so expect to try your hardest.
He does not expalin the material too clearly, but tries his best to. he's nice but too nice and sometimes butts into your business and goes overboad.
I love Mr. Slattery. He help you learn in a really engaging and fun way. I wish all teacher taught like him.
Awesome teacher! Teaches everything thoroughly step by step and doesn't hesistate to answer any homework questions. Tests are easy and he has a good attitude about everything.
Slattery was a really great teacher! He was very motivating and also showed us that if we ourselves put in the effort to improve -- then we could achieve all that we wished for.
A really nice person, but not a great teacher. Cannot explain things clare, but if u ask for help he will try best to help u!
I like Slattery but I don't consider him as good of a teacher. He is a good mentor by all means but his grading system, especially those involving projects, is greatly flawed. A guy who is too optimistic about everything cannot see the struggle that students may have with each other. By all means, I love Slattery but he should change his lesson plans.
very willing to help students and has a very good personality, but as far communicating the material effectively so students understand crystal clear, leaves much to be desired. Does have a fairly difficult time making all the students understand and can be a bit confusing in class sometimes. Don't blame him, though, considering that physics is a pretty confusing subject anyways.
He was a great teacher and is a wonderful person. He inspired me to be a teacher too. I teach math now!
SUCH A GREAT TEACHER! He is a teacher that actually teaches. Totally patient, understanding, and it's hilarious when you don't do your homework and he says, "that's okay, i still like you." THE BEST!!
best science teacher ever. i havent read the book once and i still got a 98 on the final. he teaches you everything you need to know. i think it is hilarious when you dont do your homework and he says "thats ok i still like you".
i'm taking his ap course my senior year, and hes been saying hey to me in the halls since my sophomore year. he radiates of the "cool teacher" aura, if you know what im sayin.
Mr. Slattery is awesome, I just wish Physics was as awesome as him :s
really really nice teacher. would like you no matter what happens. is willing to give more help when you need it. could postpone tests. remembers you...says hi whenever he sees you. :)
Will let you postpone tests if you are not ready...really nice and understanding teacher.
great teacher. the only think i dont like about his class is the amount of notes. fun stuff though.
I love Mr. Slattery! He is such a great person to talk to inside and outside the classroom. Physics was very difficult for me though. I still stop by to say hi from time to time.
Nice to everyone, makes accusing him of playing favorites almost impossible. Will help everyone and is a source of infinite patience. Makes physics bearable. Just dont fall asleep
real friendly, but teaching's not too clear. at least he's very open to questions (helpful). physics is frickin' hard!
great teacher and no matter what he will still like you.
best science teacher ever. i learned so much in that class. he's caring and dedicated and no matter wat..he'd still like me!
He's a great teacher, and even when I don't do my homework, he still likes me!
Tries his best to help every one of his students. He's a wonderful and kind person who is always awesome.
AP Physics is one of the hardest classes at TCHS, but a rewarding one in that we have Mr. Slattery as a teacher. Very helpful, truthful, and kind.
Great teacher BUt WAY too nice. he need to but his foot down every so ofter especilly with ihis intergratesd sciences classes.
Mr. Slattery is very kind to all his students. I know if i dont do my homework he still likes me
Challenging, but knows what he's teaching very well. Does all he can to help his students understand. One of the nicest teachers at Temple City.
Makes physics very interesting. Definitely one of the best teachers I've ever had.
One of the most nice and caring teachers. Real sincere and will stay to help. Always a great teacher to turn to for help. Super nice.
Extremely kind and nice. His daughter Hana always brings a smile on our face.
He tries his hardest and likes to make people smile. That's always a plus. Very patient guy. Go Slattery!
Really cares about his student. Takes extra effort in helping students learn. he's also very thoughtful and knowledgable
Super friendly and nice; great attitude about teaching.
