Ms. Airoldi is a great teacher in nearly everything but grading. She's a very difficult teacher when it comes to grading papers and the like, but you can tell she does it because she wants you to learn from your mistakes. In all other aspects she's amazing in my opinion. She makes good jokes once in a while but not so much that it's annoying and she clearly knows very very well what she's talking about. Also she's nice and will speak to you outside of class readily
One of my favorite teachers at Hunter. Her class is challenging, but she's happy to meet with you outside of class and I thought her grading was fair.
ms airoldi is super smart but a very hard grader. i love her class, but if you aren't an english student and just want the easy a, she's definitely not for you. in class discussions, she's super knowledgeable about the books and points out really interesting aspects of the analysis that you never noticed. however, her grading is absurdly hard--a B on a fle is considered good, and everyone cries when they get their first fle back. luckily she lets you rewrite everything for a new grade!!
Ms. Airoldi is quite possibly the smartest teacher I've ever had. She's also really funny and knows how to generate good class discussions. At the same time, she is a very harsh grader. You have to seriously think about essays -- it's not a class where you can just write anything and expect a good grade.
She was really mean and graded super hard. I really didn;t like her. She needs to lighten up and ease up on the grading before becoming a mother
She's an amazing teacher, but she's super a super harsh grade. But she does usually grade fairly and if you read the books and do the homework you'll be all right.
I LOVE HER. She's the only reason I know how to speak half decent English. She spent one period teaching me grammar and I've aced every grammar test since. Also she has a fantastic personality. :)
i'm a fan so far (have her for latin am, which i think is being discontinued). she's kind of nerdy, very quiet, and certainly not given to lecturing. there are a lot of long silences in the class, which can sometimes be awkward, but she's flexible. she's not as hard a grader as she's made out to be, but she's definitely not easily impressed. i like that class, though. interesting stuff, and a good second semester class--she shows a lot of deference.
MOST AMAZING ENGLISH TEACHER IVE HAD AT HUNTER!! shes very relaxed and even if youre on her bad side, she wont really show it but she'll give hints. she likes symobolizim especially in her FLE's. shes a tough grader also, but that's understandable because it pushes you to work harder. and it pays off because you become a better fle writter. shes soooo funny so enjoy the time u have with her cause most teachers at hunter are serious and dont come close to comparrison.
I really REALLY like Ms.Airoldi. I did SO bad on her FLE's and PLE's and what-not, but she saw my effort and my class participation and still gave me a REALLY good grade compared to my Fle's. She will literally smash knowledge into your brain that wont leave you for a long time. And while she's hard, she's funny and nice enough to cancel that out.
A nice but no-nonsense teacher. You will really learn alot in her class. She is a pretty tough grader though (especialy on FLEs).
her projects are impossible and really difficult, but she is reallllyy nice and cool and a good teacher. SHE IS SO NICE you're lucky if you have her. :)
She can get moody, but 10th grade was the first time I understood what symbolism was. I owe my continued success in english classes to her.
She loves sybolism but thats good for english...i think shes AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Surprisingly popular given Hunter student's general perceptiveness about teachers. You'll live her the first day and loathe her within two weeks: difficult, stubborn, unfair, pedantic, dull.
She's very funny and very personable. She doesn't always keep the class that well under control, cause she usually laughs along when we act out. Average grader- not too hard, sometimes too critical. Could afford to be a little more passionate about English in general. Overall, one of the most enjoyable classes I've ever had.
so nice, so boring, so helpful. she thinks that the only thing that can be right about a book is exactly her opinion. but if you ever need help- she is there is a second.
Tough but VERY fair-she'll make you read between lines for symbolism, but if you actually work at it, it's really enjoyable. She made me love English. One of my favorite teachersi
she's soooo nice. rly funny. we do fun stuff in class
she's tough but she's also very good, thorough, and willing to help.
pretty hard teacher, but makes class interesting, though it gets corny sometimes. a very fair teacher, doesn't play favorites, but seems to be a tad bit opinionated
i used to think she was pretty bad but... now that ms. levenson is here i have a new definition of bad...
She's a really nice teacher, and although her jokes are corny at times, it would be hypocrital to blame her for that.
lots of corny jokes, abstractly funny... she finds a word she likes, and uses it in evry example, like 1+1+2 does not equal 1+1+2+gorilla--easy to stay awake!
As an alum of Hunter, I cannot recall a teacher I disliked more. But I gave a 5 for clarity because of how CLEARLY bad she was.
ive only had her for like a week so far, bu t she seems like a really nice, good teacher!
Ms. Airoldi is like Ms. D'Amico, except maybe with cornier and more excessive jokes. She makes the class enjoyable, but maybe that's cause I'm easily amused ...
she tries to be open-minded but sometimes she fails at it. and her assignments are really anoying, but she will help you any time you want.
least she helps us, and appreciates my need to talk in class, a lot. tee hee. O:-)
at first you think she's really easy but she's not, and her assignments are unbelievably annoying (the speech, letter, art kind). tries a bit too hard to be cool. and if she doesn't agree w/you OR doesn't like you're writing style, even if your opinions a
if it's not written her way, you get bad grades. she's pretty cool as a person, but she should stop trying to be friends with us-it's just weird. over-analysis
I hate her, she never accepts anyone else's thoughts. and she knows about sparknotes!
Really hard and sometimes confusing, but makes time available to explain 1-1. I have learned SO much from her this year.
the best english teacher i've had. yes, despite my lack of capilization online lol. she's really smart & creative & fun & capable. she's awesome!
SHE MAKES US READ SO MUCH AND GIVES US A LOT OF POP QUIZES(AND SHE KNOWS ABOUT SPARKNOTES)
bland discussions. hard essay grader. sometimes really rude and boring jokes.
