I will admit there are better ways of learning than copying notes, but she actually does know the material and she prepares you well for the AP. At any stage in class, she keeps her role as teacher.

Her class is hard and she goes through the material quickly, but it's not actually her fault. Everyone thinks she's harsh, but if you think about it, she actually prepares you for the AP. AP grading is intense; they mark off for the smallest things, so considering the AP exam, Mrs. Parnell knows what she's doing. But with the math, she doesn't seem to actually understand the material, just copies off her notes and we spend forever frantically scribbling down notes and not really understanding.

She's a great teacher who cares. She's definately not easy, but it's worth having her. Vary fair in her grading.

Very moody. Doesn't realize how much homework she gives. Thinks that she has the hardest job in the world as a teacher and that we, as students, have it easy and don't do anything. When everyone does bad on a test, she doesn't realize that either A. she didn't teach the material well, or B. her test questions sucked and didn't make sense.

If you are in precalc she will prepare you well for BC. If you are in BC Calc she will prepare you well for the AP exam. Either way she is a good teacher, and she cares about every single one of her students.

I love calculus. The one thing you need to know about Mrs. Parnell is she is a real jekyll and hyde. Be careful not to push the limit, because she switches fast and then she wipes the smile off your face and some days she starts off like that. Overall, she gives you many oppurtunites to increase your grade with each of the homeworks if turned in early you get a 6/5 and there is extra credit on all of the tests and a big grade bonus in 4th quarter. (circa 2004-2005)

The meaner half of Mont/Parn. I guess she's not that bad, and she certainly knows her math; I'd recommend going to her if you're having problems. The teaching is sometimes lost because of the big class, but I guess that she's okay. Maybe I'll have more to say if I have her for BC next year.

I have Parnell for BC and it is not a good experience: she creates a hostile environment (always teacher vs. student), not very understanding, sarcastic. Her lectures are clear and she knows her stuff but she also can be moody.

The better half of Mont/Parn. Shes a bad teacher but shes still much better than Mrs. M. They assign way too much hoework sometimes. One night the minimum amount of time spent for people who could actually figure out how to finish the homework was 6 hours! And when the average grade an a test is a D+ that means it wasn't taught well, not that the teachers need to criticize the students more, but they don't seem to realize that.
