I understand he just retired this summer, and I wish him well in future endeavors. Although some students resented his unflinching high standards and tendency to teach through stories, he never failed to make us think instead of memorize, and I found that my preparation for subsequent courses and appreciation for math both to be superior to students who never had him. He has definitely been a credit to the teaching profession.
R.I.P. in peace ;_;7
At first, I was very confused by Mr. Biehl's method of teaching, but by the end of the year I was very glad I had him. He truly does teach you to learn and not just memorize. Learned a lot from this g
Mr Biehl was the nicest teacher I'd ever had. He honestly cared about people. Those who complain about his teaching methods should realize that he teaches you to understand, not to memorize. Therefore
He was a nice guy, but didn't understand that in order to teach a class, you can't just sit there and watch the groups go over the homework then have them read the next section of math on their own an
doesnt really teach at all, but tests are easy if you study.
his class is really hard at many points and sometimes he doesn't know what he's teaching. sometimes easily upset, but is a great guy-he has many stories to tell
Mercurial, caustic then really excited about his topic. Lots of shaming instead of explaining. Makes youj feel stupid when you don't get it.
He is the most arrogant son of a gun, ever! Thinks he is the smartest man in the world; however, he failed calculus THREE times!
He has a very unique teaching style that really needs time to get used to. He teaches very well and forces you to think outside of the box. But after a while, you really start to like him
Mr. Biehl has been my favorite teacher. He challenges his students, making them think outside the box. His teaching method takes some getting use to; however, he is extremely helpful and passionate :)
Great teacher for those who are mature, focused students, as he respects his students as adults. Passionate about teaching and math. Straight forward, and an easy person to talk to. Highly qualified.
His teaching style is varied and interesting, and his classes keep you alert and engaged. Tests are graded strictly, but homework is a very effective boost. I really enjoyed his course.
I had discrete with him;thought it easy & mainly conceptual. He's incredibly helpful if you approach him for help/gives plenty of outside resources. Has poor clarity because of new/untested activities.
He is friendly and funny but his class is hard and I don't get half of the stuff. He doesn't really teach.
Very smart, but extremely condescending and arrogant.
Mr. Biehl can be great if you agree with him that he's brilliant and cool. He can be a very good teacher, if he's in the mood.
he's pretty much the most arrogant teacher i've ever had, always talking about how good he is. got on my nerves.
mr biehl is a great teacher. he isn't "there" for students like some other teachers are. he doesn't make class fluffy and happy. good teachers are supposed to be friends, they're suppose to instruct. so whether you like him or not as a person, you gotta respect his knowledge of math. He's also super organized as far as homework and tests are. you always know when they are, unlike some teachers at charter.
i think he is a great teacher especailly with disceret math. i never saw math in this way before i took this class and it really opened my eyes to how math is EVERYWHERE. im not saying he doesnt make jokes or can be a little mean at times but he was the best teacher i ever had at charter. no other math teacher can make math so much fun.
maybe if he likes you he is ok...otherwise he ruins math for you and gets on your nerves
mr.biehl. hes awesome. ull know whether or not he likes u. he loved me. if he jokes around or messes with u, then ull know he loves u. hes a funny guy and hes a really good teacher. pay attention in class. he is very punctual and make sure u tuck in ur shirt. and try not to get on his mean and nasty side.
Mr.Biehl is the most amazing teacher i have ever had. If you have negative opinions a out him its most likely because he doesnt like you so he isnt nice to you. Hes brilliant and arrogance i guess can be expected. Hes a genius. I have never met a smarter man. His class is fun. and he doesnt talk down to you. Or atleast not to me. Hes one of the only teachers that has made my experience a charter a little bit more bearable.
Very cool and fun teacher, but sometimes his jokes a bit harsh.
One the best math teachers i've known. He teaches in a way that's fun and easy to understand.
His "new-age" methods of "teaching" did not impress me. Also, his arrogance is unbelievable (really).
Mr. Biehl is pretty cool, he is indeed a great teacher and all around pretty interesting, i think he needs an attitude adjustment though
Great at teaching, but his love for his work makes him too moody. Plus he'll hold unnecessary grudges at students
the class can be alright at times but its just so much easier in clinic. if things were taught the way they were in clinic, then i would understand much better
Good teacher, he emphasizes knowing the logic behind how u got ur answer than just memorizing stuff.
He is good at making you understand the subject and tries to make you think outside of the box, but he can get some weird kinda pet peeves which can be a pain.
He know his stuff, and teaches it well. However, he is a bit intimidating and yes, arrogant.
Mr. Biehl is cool because he keeps math simple and HATES memorization.
sometimes i dont understand his teaching. if i havent done it with another teacher i usually have to teach myself out of the text book, his tests can be tough
I love Biehl, he's challenging and makes you think but he's incredibly interested in what hes teaching which makes for a fun class.
