Mr. La is literally one of the most laid back teachers. Just don't get on his wrong side before a concert (as you wouldn't with any conductor). As far as his class goes, it's orchestra, you don't really learn too much content other than music, and he doesn't offer any kind of lessons as far as I know, but in rehearsal he is decent at catering to your needs. He can snap occasionally, and his class is sort of impersonal due to the quantity of students, buts it's extremely easy and fun.

I'm amazed La's still there! I'm a 1996 graduate, and back then Mr. La was hands down one of the few influential teachers I ever had. Always encouraging, always one with humor, and always there with kind words and encouragement if an individual feels they are horrible. The whole of the orchestra

Mr. La is one of the best people I have ever met. I'm in orchestra winds and he is so much better than the excuses of teachers in band. he makes an effort to know everyone's names and truly cares

Great Orchestra teacher. Loves what he does, is nice to his students yet still manages maintain a very talented orchestra... except the concert cellos. they are just sad.

best teacher ever! he is so nice and helpful and really smart and he makes orchestra so fun! he will write you a pass for almost anything and he is such a nice and loveable guy! you just want to give him a hug everytime you see him! (:
