My math SAT score went up over 100 points after the SAT review class.
Leon is horrible when it comes to any social skills. He's a good teacher who knows what he's doing with computers but apparently doesn't know how to shower or interact with other people. He should be re evaluated for his teaching position.
He really loves technology. I'm not sure I love technology but some of the things we did were fun. I like being able to make an animation with programming. And create an online quiz. We did some math stuff that wasn't as fun, but I guess you need to know some math to do technology stuff.
He seems to know a lot about computers, and I thought I knew alot until I took Digital World. Flash is really cool - he showed us programming can be fun.
Great programmer, bad teacher. The only actual reason I'm able to do Java is because of all the out-of-class work I've been doing before I joined his Computer Programming class.
Digital World was kinda fun. You can do anything with Flash. Programming can be a pain, but once the thing works - we did some cool stuff. You need patience though.
Everyone should take Computer Programming. Quit a few of us are majoring in Computer Science next year, but even if you aren't, the class is really helpful.
Great teacher. Very helpful at extra help. His class is pretty hard but when it comes to the regents, its a breeze compared to his class. So he definitely prepares you well if you can survive his class.
In our math 10 honors class, we had like almost the whole class break a 90 on the regents, so the hard work paid off. I think I'm gonna cruise through pre-calc next year :)
Not, boring - that's for sure. I guess some people think anything math is boring. But the class is actually challenging and fun.
A new school year is about to begin, so here's some advice if you have LaSpina. Listen in class. Really LISTEN. You'll learn a lot and you wont miss the jokes. Class goes by FAST...if you dont listen your gonna hate it.
I dont think he is a genius like some other kids said. I think he is just really interested in math and you can learn anything you are interested in. That is the most important thing he taught me-love learning.
Wow. The video game design class was really cool. Two weeks was to short. Definetly take programming!
he was extremely unhelpful. extra help sessions were worthless because he was too focused with his cisco class. math 10 was very hard and he didnt teach well. he knows math but he cannot teach. pre-calc was a battle.
He seems to be pretty into his subject. And pre-calculus wasn't too bad since I was pushed to do well last year.
Sometimes he makes things look easy. Just do this... But then it can be hard to actually do it when it comes time for the test. He emphasizes concepts and ideas more than heres how we solve this (step1, step2,step3)
I think that if you learned the material from 9th and 10th grade math, then Math B isn't that bad. But for kids that didn't really learn the math taught last year and in Middle School, it just piles up.
Mr. Laspina is a good teacher, but like all teachers, he has his flaws. He doesn't give enough notes which could take the place of the discussion and examples. But if you go to one extra help session you'll know MUCH more.
The math B regents was not too bad and we should be (hopefully) well prepared for pre-calculus after his math class. Sometimes the class was funny.
The programming class is really fun. Java is cool (better than Scheme) - everyone should take this class! And it isn't too much work either.
Sometimes the pace of a lesson seems a little fast, but we end up covering a whole lot, so I guess we need to move fast.
Good sense of humor (sometimes). Really used the smart board computer projector and that made class fun (sometimes). Ask him about his cats.
He was extremely helpful at the Math Fair. I'm not sure I would want him as my judge, though.
Mr. Las really likes what he does and that he cares about how we do. Don't use bad language in his class -He made kids copy out of this stupid little dictionary when they cursed!
He teaches really interesting classes and I think you can tell that he is really interested in the stuff he teaches. He makes it a point to keep learning.
You have to read the curriculum for cisco and programming to do well. He's a mathematical wizard, but he does have trouble conveying his thoughts. I had a 100 cisco 3 average ^_^
Sometimes he is just unnecessarily rude or unreasonable. It appears that sometimes he will go out of his way not to answer a question or help someone out. Otherwise, good teacher.
Computer Programming is more interesting than Cisco...more math and less stuff to memorize
Gave a lot of notes in Cisco 3/4, usually on the computer. Sometimes power point was helpful.
Too bad he doesn't teach much math, because he seems to know a lot about it.
