Had her many years ago and took both honors chemistry and AP chemistry. It was definately one of the best classes I ever took. Her class is extremely challenging but yoy learn so much from her class. She is mean and sarcastic and blunt, but apart from that she is an outstanding teacher and a great person. By the way, she made the AP classes seem like a joke.
Her daily warm ups are regarding material not yet learned and then after failing to get the right answer, she explains how to do it. It's learning through failure. For me, the material is difficult to understand and she is not very effective in communicating it in a way for high school students to really grasp the ideas behind it, due to her extensive knowledge in the subject. Seems to be working well as a class for kids who have a lot of time to study but I don't so I won't be doing AP.
love mrs Dillard soooo much! she's so funny and sarcastic although she's a hard teacher she really knows her stuff!
I was an honors chem student who was not the best at science, and got a C. Hardest classes I've ever taken. I don't like how she teaches 1/2 of the concepts and expects you to apply them through graded work. The material is a lot harder than an average honors chem class. I came in the morning early every day for help, came to tutoring, and even got an outside tutor. I felt I did much more work than other students did well in the class, but was simply unable to learn the material.
Mrs. Dillard is the face of Redondo. She is one of the most difficult teachers, however she truly knows her stuff and cares about her students. I had a extremely rough year in AP Chemistry this year, however I came out of the class a much more knowledgable individual.
I still remember having difficulty in her cp chemistry class back in '04. I am not a math or science person but I really worked hard in her class to pass. I even got tutored by a person she recommended. I got a C the first semester and a D the second. I remember her lessons and taking notes and I asked her to repeat something because I truly was trying to process it and she said, "I already said it and I'm not repeating it." I am now a teacher and I would never say that to one of my students.
I got a 2 :( so I ruined her reputation...
Dillard is probably the best teacher I've ever had. Even though her tests are very hard it prepares you for next year ap and the ap exam
Ms. Dillard is by far one of the best chemistry teachers I have ever had. She is extremely knowledgeable and she will help you if you truly have a problem. The classes she teaches are difficult, but h
She is an amazing teacher. Chem was one of my hardest classes, but I loved it because of her. I thought she was funny, and she's actually really nice. I loved Ms. Dillard. I learned a lot.
Great teacher, wonderful woman. Class is amusing, fun, and you will learn a lot, even tho it is challenging. And, Ms. Dillard is HILLARIOUS.
I had the Dill for Honors. I was lazy, so she was always mad at me over homework. However, there's something about her that you can't hate. She's mean as heck and very tough, but at the same time she'll probably end up being one of your favorite teachers. I love her and plan to visit soon.
haha ms. dillard is so cool. its a hard class, but she teaches it real well. she's kinda mean to you if she's teaching in front of the class, but if you ask her a one-on-one thing, she'll be really patient and exremely helpful. she can act mean, but shes really joking.
Her class is extremely hard and it is difficult to get an A or B in her class but she definitely prepares you. Even if it doesn't feel like you are learning a lot, you are. Her AP chem class has gotten a 100% pass rate each year. I didn't do so well in her honors class but when I retook it over the summer with a different teacher I easily got an A because I still remembered a lot of the things that she taught me. Also, she seems really tough in class but when you talk to her after class she's nice.
she is the paragon of chemistry teachers. her class is very hard, but you learn. the dillard seems mean, but she is actually very nice. students from 15+ years ago still visit!
Without a doubt, THE BEST teacher on the campus. People have literally gotten D's in her class and easily get a 5 on the AP test. She is a tough teacher, but very nice inside.
Yes, she is a hard teacher. However she is a good teacher and helpful. You'll actually learn something in a class for once, however its a tough class
you'll laugh, you'll cry; well most of you will probably just cry. i know i did on more than one occasion. but, she makes a genious out of you. so it's worth the pain.
Mrs. Dillard is one of the most dedicated, outstanding teachers I have ever had. I had her for two years because she is so amazing; she got me through the AP and I still visit
A very challenging teacher but she know's what she's doing. She over-prepares for AP's and at the same time she can be a great friend. Don't be in her class if you're a slacker tho
Best.Teacher.Ever. I'm majoring in chem because of The Dillard.
nice teacher, but she can ease up on the work and HW. Has a nice personality, and will help you if you are having problems. goes over material fast.
BEST TEACHER EVER. if you didn't have her, I feel sorry for you. She is the Godess of chemistry
another dedicated teacher who doesnt put up with stupidity. gave me a great understanding of chemistry and science in general, best sci teacher at redondo
dont mess with her during the class, but come at lunch and shes very helpful and - dare i say it - nice. AP chem is an incredibly hard class tho
Mrs. Dillard is very helpful but you have to take responsibility and ask for help
Great teacher, I guess and pretty funny but still that was one heck of a hard class.
If you can't learn chemistry from this woman, you can't learn it at all. Also one of the funnist teachers I've had.
