Wedge is honestly a mess. I'm sure her class is helpful if you know nothing about literature, but if you have any previous knowledge, it's insufferable. She goes off on tangents every two seconds to the point where it takes her the whole hour to discuss something that should take 10 min. Overall she's a nice person and her class isn't terrible, but it's incredibly frustrating. If you already know literary terms, are well-read, etc., just self-study for the AP exam and avoid this class.
Ms. Wedge is the nicest woman and is passionate about her subject. Her AP Lit and Comp class is perfect for preparing for the AP exam.
I took her AP Lit and Comp course my senior year. Looking back, I realize two things: 1) She was probably the teacher who prepared me the most for college-level writing. 2) I read the most interesting books in this class. Also, at least when I took the course, the end of the year is poetry and tends to be very relaxed. Honestly, if you demonstrate a moment of interest each class period, if you can turn homework in, and if you can demonstrate progress: this class will be easy :)
take a class with her if you want an interesting, but easy english class.
