I can corroborate what someone said below me (Sep. 25, 2006) about having mixed feelings about Ms. Craig-Olins at the time I had her, but loving her in retrospect. She was my 8th-grade English teacher in 1997-8.

She is too old to be teaching. She is frazzled and unclear. She is easy yet she gives so many assignments at once I am completely overwhelmed. I just spent my whole Sunday writing 10 journal entries on Gilgamesh because she forgot to assign the journal when we started reading the book. I think it's time to retire...

She is the worst teacher i have ever had. She rarely gives assignments but when she does they are all in the same week, allowing the students very little time to complete them. She is very unhelpful

I have her right now for English, and she is really good! She knows her stuff VERY well! She is also very helpful to her students! So I think she is a great English teacher!

She's nice, but she's very scatterbrained and while her work isn't particularly difficult, she tends to give out loads of it at once. I remember having 7 simultaneous assignments for her class.

*REALLY HARD GRADER* but can be nice when she feels like it... asks to take notes on the weirdest and most unrelated things to English

Vague, unhelpful, and only likes kids who do well. Has no idea what she is doing and makes everyone in the class confused. She's also bad at grading tests and papers.

VERY unorganized. When she says take notes, take the notes because likely that random information will show up somewhere. Tough grader on papers, but is a pretty nice tacher. Likes the Odyssey too much

a very nice teacher, though hard and class sometimes drags on. I'd say she was one of the better english teachers in the school though. I mean, if you're looking for a better english teacher than her, go look in another school. among english teachers at north, ms. c-o definitely comes out on top.

The problem is...the grade of your first paper WILL be your grade on every paper for the rest of the year. I think she has control issues too-she keeps a very tight leash on the direction of class discussions
