He is a very nice teacher and is always willing to answer any question. His lesson plans are very good with a lot of helpful activity. Teaching grammar however is not a strong point point for him.
This man is one of the nicest at Stevenson. Sometimes, it can be a bit hard to understand class, but he will stop at nothing to make certain that all students understand. He treats all of his students like friends, and always wants to help. He gives students 1 on 1 attention and truly cares. Fantastic person, and fantastic teacher
Sr. Rider-Sanchez is a great teacher to have to AP. He isn't too strict with grading, and it's not hard to get an A if you study and practice for the tests ahead of time. He is also a great guy - he's very easy to talk to about anything and is always in a good mood. It was really cool to have a native Spanish speaker for AP Spanish and he did a great job preparing us for the AP exam.
He speaks only Spanish but he is really nice and super helpful!! He is also really understanding and he gives easy points!
Sr. Rider was a great teacher. Had him for AP Spanish and couldn't have asked for a better experience. He cares for his students and is a lot of fun to have as a teacher. He is helpful and approachable. He makes students feel special and can kid around (appropriately and kindly) to make you feel like friends.
Sr. Rider was a great teacher and very passionate about his class. He may seem intimidating but as you get to know him he is kind, warm, fun, and awesome.
He is a nice and caring person but he honestly cannot teach. He thinks everything is easy because he is native. When you go in for help, he just tells you what you did wrong, not how you can improve.
Great teacher with a lot of passion for teaching. He will help you succeed in his class. Now I feel I can really speak Spanish after participating so much in his class.
Sr. Rider is a truly nice teacher. He clearly tries to be helpful and has good intentions. He wants his students to get good grades. Although he wants this, he makes spanish boring, his notes aren't helpful and when asking for clarification he doesn't know how to explain and help. Basically, everyone in the class explains to eachother and you may want to visit the Learning center too
I'm very, very concern about the way of teaching of Manolo Rider Sánchez. Y viva el pozo de los puercos
Have to say my worst teacher so far...although he's nice and tries to be helpful, it is impossible to understand him most of the time and I hv had trouble understanding his notes and the pace of which he teaches is too fast. Many of the people in my class disliked him greatly even though he wants to be helpful, but can't.
Wow...Sr. Rider...had him for two years. Hated him in 3x and through the first semester of AP. At the end of it all, though, I think I was fortunate to have him. He may not seem like he knows you or notices you, but he truly does. He has a hidden sense of humor, truly cares about his students, and truly makes you learn Spanish since he barely knows how to speak in any other language (or if he does, he conceals his English-speaking abilities very well!). Don't drop him. Give him a chance.
He's not good at teaching grammar, which is the majority of what AP and 3x is. He makes you do two times more work than other classes. Your grade would be higher in a different class.
Trouble understanding him, has trouble making things clear
Sr. Rider is one of the sweetest men at Stevenson and he truly wants to see his students learn. Although he can be unclear at times, he is the most authentic Spanish teacher you can have a SHS. If you don't like Spanish and don't put in effort, then his class is not for you. But if you enjoy Spanish and care about putting in the work that this class deserves, you will do very well and have a great experience. In 3x he was great, but in AP he is awesome. He has so much passion for his subject!
at first I was happy because he only talks in spanish and that's the best way to learn the language. however,he's just a horrible teacher.he's very unclear, and that's not because of the lang. barrier.
Haha the notorious Rider. Had him 2 years, hard as heck. I missed 2 weeks in the hospital and he seriously wanted me to make up every assignment, I needed to have the counselor get him off my back. He wants you to do well though.
didn't understand a word he said. easy grader though. i dropped down a level in spanish though.
Too many oral presentations. He stares at his watch while you're doing it. I cannot understand a word he says. He's boring and doesn't let anyone participate. Too much busy work. Your book will help you do well. Good luck with him
i hated him. he was a horribile teacher. and not nice to me. he humiliates students in front of the class. doesnt know how to communicate with people. all he gives is busy work. never hands back work. he made me hate spanish.
he's ok. sometimes he makes jokes that aren't funny, but the rare few are. he likes to do a lot on computer, but it doesn't always work. the constant spanish is hard to follow.
Everyone says he's a bad teacher, but he's prob the best teacher you'll have. If you come in the morning, he will help you. Yea, the class is a little boring, but he is the nicest
ok so for spanish accel the class was a breeze. ap spanish.. the class was impossible and he did not prep well for the ap test. he is really nice, but boring.. and teaches nothing.
A nice guy, but im not sure if he's cu out to teach, i think he should just stick with speaking spanish.
No one can understand him. The class is easy, but only because we all have past knowledge. One of my least favorite teachers.
if he likes you, you'll do well. if he doesn't like you... you can't understand him and he wastes paper.
he's soo nice and means very well. he tells us about his kids and makes jokes and stuff, even if we cant really understand him.
This guy should have never become a teacher. Nice guy - yeah, but teaching just isn't for him. Please Senior, quit your day job
He is a very nice person and good teacher. He doesn't actually give much busywork. Also, if he does call about missed assignments, it means he's doing his job.
nice guy but sadly, he's incredibly boring and can't teach. i give him credit for trying though.
i have to hand it to him...hes a nice guy. but honestly, he cant teach. and all we do is busy work. i dont think i have learned a single thing in that class except for how to play battleship.
these kids are mean...Sr. Rider is a really nice guy and definitely tries hard
Tries to be cool but isnt... though he dishes out the grades when neccesary
