I graduated from Homestead in 2005 and now teach Geometry. Thank goodness I had Mrs. Smythe! My first year in the classroom it all came back to me because of Mrs. Smythe's excellent teaching!
her class was so hard, and everytime you asked for help she would say "Just figure it out!" and then yell at you if you get it wrong.
i agree with below. gives out so much hw even though the day was a big test day or a holiday if you want to ask her something even a small math question, you would have to come to tutorial
her grading is obsurd. homework load is way too much. She doesn't realize that students have other classes and other priorities so she piles up so much homework. you don't ever get a break from it.
really good teacher, just don't talk a lot in class. teaches a lot of material that you mostly use. just do ur homework and your grade will easily go up. gives xtra credit. awesome
She always used to rush out to lunch. But other than that, she's extremely clear: lots of overheads and visual stuff to help you understand the material.
She takes way too many exotic vacations. Needs to hurry up on giving tests back!
Relies on students to do much of the teaching, but i like that. She is extremely picky and expects far past the reasonable level of neatness.
most people i know hated her, but i didn't. I thought she made things very clear and she was very patient
good teaching outside class, but neesd to teach more in the classroom.
