Mayers, in theory, encourages classroom discussion but every time, it end up the same way. We argue. She couldn't pursuade a gnat to change its beliefs.

She always asks your opinions, but if she doesn't like what she hears, she has no problem making it known. I learned nothing in her class and actually left feeling dumber.

Mayers tries to encourage discussion and participation in her classes in an effort to cover up meaningless courses and crappy textbooks. It does not work. Discussion and participation in her class means her standing behind her podium and picking people whom she knows will give safe answers or weren't paying attention so she can get them to pay attention.
