wasn't the best but certainly wasn't the worst....you could tell who she didn't like really easily
Her grading policies are totally unfair. She takes off points for minor errors in spelling or citation formatting, which can really hurt your grade on an assignment. She treats students unfairly in classroom discussion, trying to prevent those with differing opinions from arguing their case while helping the students she agrees with. I have her for AP Lit and the other teacher is so much nicer and easier, but she's not teaching this year so everyone is stuck with Herndon
She always shuts down the opinions of those who are "different" or if she doesn't like the student. Her snarky remarks are masked by sarcasm. She has ruined my love of English and the English language. Her class is extremely boring and most students hate her class. She is extremely judgmental and inconsiderate of people's times. After her divorce, she became extremely bitter towards the male population.
She is very very nice. However, she is a huge busy work teacher, and barely helps at all if you ask her to review college essays. If you have her for senior year, be prepared for some frustratingly stupid busy work.
One of the best teachers at Woodson. Her tests may be hard but she is always willing to help especially on essays.
Ms Herndon is the best! We had fun in class, but she worked us hard and we learned so much, especially about writing. I would recommend her to anyone.
If you have her your school year is going to be miserable.
She is a really nasty person. I didn't feel comfortable asking her questions, afraid she would yell at me or roll her eyes. She expects you to know everything. Not to mention I dreaded going to her class each day. There are presentations almost every week. It sucks.
She grades everything so hard. She takes off points when she says it's perfect. Also her class is the most boring class ever. I hate her so much. She the worst teacher I've ever had.
I disliked Ms. H. She thought she was great. She was smart, but she wasn't all that. She graded everything way too hard with inconsistent grading. One day the grade would be a 100%, and if you turned in something of that caliber the next day it would be a 90--for no reason. She would say she loved something then take off 10 points and she wouldn't be able to explain why she did it. Her assignments had no point, her final was crap, she didn't teach my anything. I did a 5, but still be wary of her
She was a pretty good English teacher- but she made assignments too hard by not giving enough time and grading pretty harshly. She taught books quite well and helped improve my annotating, but she lacked in teaching writing,
Although she seems like a really nice and cool person, she was way too strict and didn't give nearly enough time for many projects. A lot of the time I felt that she didn't explain things clearly enough.
Very cold. Grades inconsistently and way to hard. Teaches books well but doesn't teach writing at all. Sometimes funny, but sometimes innapropriate too.
Very good at making the material interesting, quite down to earth, and encourages quality work. Great!
I used to hate English...until now. She not only corrects homework but also praises what we do well. She does not give busywork and challenges us to do our best. Yay for Mrs. Herdo
She's awesome. She treats us like young adults, granted she is the only class I have homework in during my senior year besides Calculus.
She is tge most enlightening teacher I've ever had. challenges you to open your mind and not just pass SOL's. she is fair and non-judgemental. You Rock Herndon
Wow, I'm having an amazing teacher now but I adored Herndon. She's so passionate and intent on bringing the pieces to life, i love it.
She is an amazing and talanted woman. Best English teacher I've ever had! Sincere, down to earth, and no favorites. Very fair. Not annoying. God she rules.
I love Mrs. Herndon...she was the best English teacher I had all of high school!
fun loving teacher. i feel like i'm learning alot from her even though sometimes i think she may need to lighten up. all in all, i approve
She's pretty nice, gets a little serious at times and looks weird when she opens her eyes really wide when you tell her something "shocking", but she's great
hahaha i like it when she makes fun of mr warren hahahahaha...and unlike mr warren she isnt too big on favorites
Awesome teacher, just make sure you do the work and you'll be fine
Easy going, fun to work with and talk to, a good person
The kids who didn't like her were the ones that sucked at English. Smart lady, good teacher, a little holier-than-thou at times but gave good feedback
