Probably one of the worst teachers I've ever had. If I were to be honest, she has a good personality and will try to make relationships with students outside the class if you have to see her. The class itself, however, is terrible. She takes too long to correct and stamp homework and we lose half the period. It seems as though she tries to get us to do busy work just to waste time. We started preparing for the AP test two weeks before it, so just take it after Spanish 4. You'll do better then.
Useless class so only take it if you want AP credit. She doesn't know anything, doesn't teach well, and gives tons of busy work. Knew more spanish than before i entered the class then after. Nevertheless, if you do all the assignments and do decently on the tests, its pretty easy to get an A.
easily the WORST teacher i've ever had in my life, and probably the worst teacher i ever will have. does absolutely nothing in class except waste time for 20 mins and then goes over the hw. nobody is prepared for the 2 tests in the semester (which aren't even hard) bc she doesn't do anything in class. if you get her, just drop the class honestly.
Señora Autran cannot be described is a few words. She is not as good of a teacher as she is a person. Everyone in the class loves her for her lovable, funny, and caring personality, but we all dislike the disorganization of her class. She often packs content at the very end of the class, and we often spend the entire period discussing and correcting HW. I've had her for AP Spanish and 3, so let me tell you that AP Spanish is way easier. It didn't matter cause everyone did well on the AP exam.
she's always super rushed. she tries to fit important concepts in 10 mins and never go over them again, expecting us to remember them and use them correctly. she often lags behind guadiamos so in the week before the final when other teachers are letting kids study, she is teaching all new material. she also often teaches new stuff 10 mins before we take the test, and then includes that content on the test. she has no sense of time and rarely finishes her lesson before the bell rings.
Sra. Autran is a very nice teacher and kind of rambles on about spanish culture A LOT. She is not very helpful for spanish however. To get an A for this class, the key is to practice orals on a daily basis because the questions are hell of EASY. However, each question needs to be answered in a second or less. She doesn't give a lot of tests so self study those and read translated cultural articles. She gets moody and irritated if somebody distracts the class.
Easily the worst spanish teacher I've ever had. Her oral's are cumulative, her phrases are stupid. I feel sorry for anyone who has to put up with her. I got an A both semesters without any effort, it's incredibly easy to BS the homework.
Really cool and funny too. She's quirky and weird and makes her students do funny gestures in class. Just do your homework everyday, and you will earn the grade you deserve! Sometimes she runs out of time though, but that's okay.
not even sure how she's a teacher. she usually spends class talking about her new dog and she forgets what she's talking about half the time. she tells you the homework as you're packing up or sometimes doesn't tell you at all and doesn't usually use schoolloop so half the class has no idea what to do. pathetic.
Horrible teacher. I can't believe she even got a job here, nevertheless is being trusted to teach high school kids. I think I learned more in middle school spanish than I did in her class. Her grading is all over the place and she makes it hard to actually do well in the class. Drop it as soon as possible because she'll make you hate spanish.
I'm pretty sure I'm smarter than Autran. She's absolutely useless as a teacher, doesn't know anything, and if you have her for spanish and plan to move on, good luck because this is my last year of this stupid class, thanks to her.
f you want to learn spanish, this is not a class you should take. Grading is unpredictable and a 4 point assignment can drop your grade 7%. Her "organizational methods" consist of piles of papers everywhere, so when she loses your papers you get a 0.
autran is super strict esp w rounding i know people who ended up w a 89.94 and still got a B...dont let urself b in that position autran is frickin hilarious though esp if u actually pay attention the participation category is way out of proportion so make sure you participate as much as possible like raise your hand ALL the time! you dont have to pay attention in lectures most of the time - mostly everythings in the book except for like 2 lectures (halloween and the last test of the year)
Menos dos para la profesora! Honestly, you will appreciate having her and not Guadiamos. Guadiamos is very hard compared to Autran. Her tests are easy and she has no quizes except for orals. One bad thing is that the orals keep on accumulated, so by the end of the year you are going to have to memorize 200 orals. personally don't pay attention in the class, because self-studying is way easier than paying attention to what she is saying and I get A s. Easy Spanish Teacher.
her stupidity is funny until it begins to affect your grade.
You can seriously get away with anything in this class, but don't expect to learn much! She is so disorganized. And you have to pay attention with the homework, because she might mention it once and then expect you to remember everything she said!
We do absolutely nothing in class and then she gives hard tests and quizzes. She's really nice about orals though
Her tests and quizzes are definitely hard as s**t, but she does give pretty easy orals to make up for it. She is honestly the spanish teacher I have had at teaching spanish concepts to me. I mean Abar
The kind of teacher who changes major grades AFTER the final
She's not the sharpest tool in the shed, but she's a nice person...that should count for something, right?
The best teachers by far are the ones that use jokes, fun activities and games in order to get their student's attention in order to teach them material. She obviously doesn't care much for her studen
Her class is fun, if you try to have fun... participate frequently.
I got dentention like 50 times in her class. But she's awesome. I personally found the class alright, but if you don't like spanish, just hope that you can sit next to one of ur friends and talk.
shes reallly sweet, pay attention and u get an A. she also givs detention quite often, but it only lasts like 4 minutes, so its alrightt, but shes a good teacher :]
SUPER easy. watch out if you are absent, even if you show her the hw, she wont write down that you did it. she is NOT ORGANIZED! didnt even write one one final just did it orally. forgets quizzes too.
absolutely love her!! she seriously is understanding and she deserves much more respect!
the classes feeel soooo long because shes so boringg. she never has a lesson plan ready...her classes are such a waste of my life.
Really understanding if you actually talk to her and try. She does teach well, but only if you pay attention, a lot of people slack. I'm so glad I have her!
every single day I do the previous day's homework in class. I also am pretty sure that a good 30% of students cheat on her tests regularly. i have also apparently gotten worse at spanish this year
shes a meh teacher...i mean you can live through the year if you have a fun class...but sometimes she can be really dumb...like assign one thinga and totally forget about....if you can i would switch
I think that she was really fun and interesting. Classes were almost never boring. She's awesome!:)
I love Senora Autran! She is so quirky and hilarious. Class isn't too hard, and I enjoy it a lot. Not an AMAZING teacher but much better than most of the other Spanish teachers.
I like her a lot for Spanish 2. Really easy, really nice, really funny.
I don't really think she's that bad - then again, I've only had her about a month. She's very nice, hilarious, has a good sense of humor, and is pretty easy. Not amazing but better than Abarca or Kos.
Shes not a very good teacher. Very picky and scolds you on everything from smiling, to talking, to no reason! Gets kinda hard and confusing. Sadly, I got her again. Switch out if possible.
she's pretty funny sometimes, and she's a bit easy compared to the other spanish teachers. there's a lot of homework though sometimes and it gets really random. it gets boring on block days because the class gets laggy.
Sometimes we waste whole periods doing nothing useful. I could've learned all the stuff she "taught" us in one day. Transfer out if you don't want to lose brain cells!
she makes up lesson plans on the spot. she doesnt really know what she is doing and gives us assignments for no reason at all. shes funny though. but she makes fun of other people.
first thing you dont know if she is speaking english or spanish. She is not good at teaching. You Learning NOTHING, switch out of her class
ummmm for spanish 2 she was better than Abarca but thats not saying much. Be ready to carry 15 lbs. of stuff just for spanish class and well get ready for long lectures and bad grades.
We sing and learn at the same time. Lots of writing and funny too. I speak the language now.
I don't understand how she got her teaching credential. She has no clue what she's doing and you learn NOTHING. She'll give you wkbk pages, wkshts and and essay to do over breaks and rushes in the end.
Not bad. As long as you get on her good side and study from the book, you'll be fine. decent teacher.
This women has never improved her teaching style. She grades hard and gives stupid assignments and doesnt teach so u fail the tests. just transfer out
you may think Span 3 is easy bcuz span 2 was a cakewalk, but honestly it isnt. this class belongs in honors/ap difficulty. GL to those taking this in junior year. Autran is decent.
I work hard for my presentation and got a good grade. I like this activity very much. Lots of fun in class with that presentation.
Her Final is very difficult. If you are not serious don't take her class.
i had her 2yrs ago and our class was probably her worst class, since we had alot of people who... made the class interesting. so that could be why she has trust issues
her classes are so boring (block pers are killers) and it's difficult to understand her. quizzes and test are hard too
Shes really hard, but not too bad. She's fairly nice but there are SO MANY WAYS TO GET MENOS PUNTOS. Overall, not too bad but really hard (at least for Spanish 3)
pretty strict. however first 2 quizzes are hecka hard and so was her test.
Very strict but that's good. Handles problems fast and efectivly. Only speaks spanish in class so I learn a lot. Very funny/ pleasant. Great Teacher. A little too easy though.
i drank water cuz i was thirsty. "menos dos puntos" said Autran. other than the super strict classroom rulz she's alright, not bad at teaching, gives us plenty of practice.
KIND OF UNCLEAR WHEN SHE SPEAKS SPANISH TO US LIKE HOW SHE ALWAYS SAYS NO CHICLETS AND EVERYONE THINKS IT'S CHOCOLATE BUT IT'S ACTUALLY GUM
She's nice, but very unhelpful and lacks effective teaching methods. Expects us to understand the lesson right away.
She doesn't know how to teach!!! She TRIES to cram everything the day before finals. WE NEED BETTER SPANISH TEACHERS!!! We are all confused and all our grades a
She is extremely nice. She is a bit paranoid about the trust issues. She needs to calm down a little bit. She is a very nice teacher, helps alot.
ms autran is really nice and funny her block periods are so boring. she doesnt give many fiestas only on cinco de mayo. she only teaches from the book.
people walk all over her... either she pretened like nothing was happening sometimes or shes just oblivious
Mrs. Autran was soooo nice to 7th period. Then we got transfered to 6th AND POH 6 period SUCKS.
If we're gonna spend the ENTIRE year reviewing last year's Spanish, I want OUT.
Ms. Autran is really nice and patient. you can get away w/ a lot in her class though. BE NICE TO HER PPL!!!!!!!!
Gosh, this woman is a saint to be putting up with us. Sorry, Senorita Autran.
