Confusing and unsympathetic, she made learning computer science a nightmare.
She's essentially useless. I was in her AP Comp Sci with 3 friends, and we learned more from each other and online tutorials than we ever did from her or her textbook. Her tests are brutally hard, and the fact that her english is broken at best certainly doesn't help. I got a 5, but that's only because after 5 torturous terms with her I learned that if you want to do well, you laugh at her terrible jokes and memorize the effing book. Good luck soldier. You'll need it.
kind of awkward, doesn't teach very well. she's really a nice lady, but talking to her can be really frustrating and I get annoyed so often..
She is not very helpful or very good at teaching concepts. She is a genius at math, but just not a great teacher. Some of her mannerisms I think come from being Russian. Study the book hard. Her tests are EXTREMELY difficult.
She is both confusing and inadvertently demeaning towards particular students. I personally don't like her teaching methods - along with the rest of the student population - but I suppose she's not a mean old hag like some describe her.
I had her for AP comp sci and I think she's a fine teacher. Granted she has a lot of trouble understanding your questions and has a funny grasp of English, but she genuinely will try to help you especially if you show that you're interested in learning. Make sure you're prepared with the homework, a
I realize that a lot of people don't like her, and that her style of teaching is different, but she's tolerant of people who goof off, has a wry sense of humor, and really enjoys math. I suppose it's an acquired taste for teachers.
Does not teach the material well at all. Strict and nasty personality. Expect to struggle through her classes and study a lot from the textbook. Also, she doesn't speak English well. good luck
easily one of the worst teachers I've ever had at PA. I've had her for math and comp sci. completely nightmare. Switch out somehow right away
one of the worst teachers i've had at pa, got all 5s in her math classes, but she needs to learn how to teach
She's tough but hard to understand. If you're good at math, you'll like her. If not, well...you'll be learning from the book and going to conference a lot.
One day she'll lose that russian accent. one day. and math students at PA will rise in a collective chear. Nice. Cares. Doesn't really "get it".
Miserable miserable lady. Completely unclear in class, and unless you are in her comp class, you will really dislike her by the end of the year.
great teacher, a lot of fun. i heard a lot of bad things about her that really didn't come out in class. she also has a great sense of humor
ms litvin is a reaaaallly nice person, and shes great during conference period. but in class/grading-extremely confusing and subjective. i switched out.
at first she confused me, but i ended up loving her! ms.litvin is awesome, you just have to get to know her! and understand her teaching style...
a truely useless advisor, if you get her, do everything yourself. Don't count on her to know a thing
I loved her class and learned more in it than in any other!
Although the majority rule for going over homework questions can make rasing problems in class a little intimidating, Ms. Litvin is genuinely ernest about helping students. Catching her btwn mth & comp students is tough, but she's always willing to help.
