"If you're ever having a bad day, just engage a dog in a staring contest." - Mark Gruskin
Mr. Gruskin was the greatest teacher I ever had. In addition to doing an excellent job teaching the class, he provides a unique perspective with personal anecdotes and coverage of topics even more in-depth than one can hope for. He is extremely passionate about the Civil War, and the classes he gives on them are not to be missed. He loves teaching the material he covers and is extremely invested in the students' success. He will likely be the teacher I remember most from high school.
Mark Gruskin; Quite literally the best teacher in the entire world.
I have never seen a man more passionate about history, sports, and especially the Civil War, than Mr. Gruskin. His APUSH class, which covers a very large amount of material, is simple if you follow along in class and review the book at home before tests. Although we do not finish all of the material officially in class, Mr. Gruskin hosts after school study sessions leading to the AP Exam to prepare you for it. Everyone loves Mr. Gruskin and he makes an instant impression. Highly recommended!
A living legend, must I say more? Soon to be enshrined in the Teacher Hall of Fame
Mark Gruskin is the reincarnation of every religious figure all in one.
I had him for Business Law (Pre-Law). If you like law, you will enjoy his class. It is fairly easy and doesn't require much work. Pay attention during review and you will ACE the test. He reads out of the textbook and talks very fast so he can be very confusing at time. He loves sports and always puts a question about them as an extra credit on the test. He know, likes, and admires his job. According to him he had been teaching for ~20 years or so, therefore he is a great asset to the school.
Sometimes goes on tangents, but overall, an excellent teacher; very knowledgeable.
I had him for AP American. He loves history. But I just could not focus in his class. It was the longest 50 minutes class I had in AHS
Great guy, had him for AP American and World Geography. Loves what he does, enthusiastic to the core about history and sports.
Great Teacher just talk about the yankees and he gets off topic
Great teacher, though he does drift away into Gruskin-land. Reminds me of those smart public school Brooklyn teachers that I had.
The most brilliant teacher anyone will ever have, although he is in his own world, still a great teacher.
really odd guy, brilliant but odd, he often paces and talks to himself, he is in his own little world
Excellent NY style teaching! The best and smartest person you can meet. You will learn and enjoy his class as well as feel like you were there at that time period.
A very bright and responsive instructor. He may seem isolated to some, but once you crack his shell on a personal level, you'll find a nice guy.
Definately one of the smartest teachers I've ever had. Pretty cool dude. He also loves sports (and talking about them, too).
he is hands down one of the smartest men to ever teach at american heritage. un the other hand he isn't the best teacher to teach at american heritage. he tends to ramble sometimes
Easily one of the smartest people I have ever come across. He definately knows his stuff and will teach it to an attentive student. Highly recommended.
Knows the material backwards and forwards, but does not teach it correctly; simply reads out of the textbook the entire year. Fails to cover adequate material for the AP exam.
great teacher i love the pre-law class only hope to have u an other year
One of the most amazing people I have ever met. I had him for world geo. and I will have him again for AP American hist. I love his class!!
Mr. Gruskin is enthusiastic and really interesting especially with when he's doing history
