Mr. Orme is seen as a mean teacher on campus but once you're in his class, you'll understand his humor. He enjoys using sarcasm and dad jokes. Although he can be harsh on students, he's just trying to teach them a lesson. Once you meet the man, he's truly a genuine and kind person. His tests are the easiest because it's all multiple choice and he does a great job teaching in class and also after school if you ask him.
Mr. Orme's class has taught me so much about life and Chem. He is very tough in class, but a HUGE softie after school and during lunch. It is highly recommended to read the book so you can understand his lessons and if you don't he WILL call you out.
Well, Mr. Orme is a pro academically. He really cares about the science he's teaching and that you understand, he always asks us to read the book and his tests really come from your textbook, they can be hard for some people, but if you're a good student you'll pass with a good grade. The only big problem is his very harsh personality, he can be very confusing sometimes and he will say mean words to your face. This can be very hurtful to some people. But it's his way which can be understandable.
He does know his science and hes a great teacher i hope i get him again
Read the book, answer his questions with complete sentences and you won't be completely roasted.
Some say he is "the long lost brother of trump"
So relieved that a teacher like this is at our school. Gotta love him
Say what you want about how "bad" Orme is, but his test scores and high averages don't lie. If you pay attention in his class and study the tests will be a breeze and you'll have tons of fun too. He's always there to help if you need him to and he'll even take a liking to you if you SPEAK UP IN HIS CLASS AND ANSWER HIM WHEN HE ASKS. This might seem hard to do, but he's completely fine with wrong answers, so there's room to try. Overall he's an amazing and funny teacher when you know him.
To be honest, I want to be like Orme when I grow up. What a cool, manly dude.
He's a great teacher academically wise. He gets the information out there and will help you personally if you ask him during lunch. I love that he never gives tests on short days and he includes little jokes at the bottom of each page of his tests. Chemistry was a hard subject for me, so I struggled with his tests, but some of them aren't all that hard. He can be very harsh personality wise. He would tell my class several times that we were the worst class he's ever had, so brace yourself.
Absolute worst. He makes fun of everyone and is very inconsiderate. He's very confusing and I had to go to youtube to teach me chemistry. He expects you to know EVERYTHING and if you mess up in class he'll easily put you on the spot. He's not afraid to make students cry and will definitely not care if you do. If you don't understand something he'll make you feel very stupid about it. A heads up to future students, speak up, read the textbook, and DO NOT get on his bad side.
I was like woah mr orme your rocking solid!
he said thanks and I have an a in his class.
"For those who gave one-star ratings about me, all of you scumbags are worthless and disabled! And for those who are readers, don't trust those ratings. You will be given a ton of homework if you are a newcomer to my class. I will be an aggressive and violent teacher if my class is not good. If you don't feel like coming into my class, TRANSFER THE HELL OUT! DON'T BULL$--T ME AGAIN!"
Easily the best teacher in the whole school. He might seem scary, but it's for your own good. Looking back, I appreciate his style of teaching a million times more. Orme is the primary reason I can hold one of the six A's in my current class of 100+. Listen to him, and you'll be successful in college, no doubt.
Keep in mind, most, if not all (probably all) bad reviews will be from agitated high school students still going through puberty. Don't listen to them. Also, thanks old man.
Difficult but a good teacher
Mr Orme is a very mean man. He told me I will never amount to anything and wouldn't grade my papers because I put the name I go by on my papers instead of the name he wanted me to go by. He constantly called me to the front to embarrass and make fun of me in front of everyone and had made me cry in front of everyone. And when I went to transfer out of his class he yelled at my counselor for taking me out of his terrible class. On top of it all, he is not someone you would ever go to dinner with.
Thomas the Train Engine
The job of a teacher is to do exactly that- to teach. While this man is definitely knowledgeable and has lots of experience, he fails to get through to students in a way that doesn't make them want to give up on school. If you manage to get on his good side (he likes the louder students who laugh at his jokes) then his class will be a breeze. Otherwise, run for your life.
Absolute worst teacher I have ever come into contact with! And I graduated 6 years ago, so I already went through having college professors ! AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL! He is completely rude to students, calling them by "nick names" that aren't even realivant to their names ! No respect for anyone, not even some of the staff, especially non science staff.
His class isn't easy, but he's a good teacher. If you pay attention and read the book you should be able to get an A with ease. He's pretty much the opposite of Ziller, scary personality but is an absolutely amazing teacher. He will teach you a life lesson every once in a while (which is sadly necessary, considering a fair amount of the students, including myself, don't have much of a social life).
If you're a smart student, and usually get straight A's, you'll have no problem with his class.
Mr. Orme is the best chemistry teacher in FVHS. If you pay attention and try, then his class will be a breeze. On the other hand, he does insult his students, makes you want to cry, and crush your dreams, but he's honestly a fantastic teacher. Think about it. Would you rather have a good teacher that's scary/mean or a nice teacher that's horrible at teaching?
This man will beat you into the ground if you aren't prepared. I got him for the first time this year, but stories from last year prepared me. This isn't some class you can just breeze through or ignore. If you sleep in his class on one of his bad days, may God have mercy on your soul. But what he knows, he knows well. If you keep up with his work and stay on top of things, you AP Exam will probably me the easiest exam. Also if you want to talk to him come after class, he's cool after class.
Definitely a good teacher who knows what he's doing, but he will not tolerate "stupid questions" and will make you feel like a failure if you're not 100% on top of things or one of his favorites. He is relentlessly insensitive and will make you cry.
Would be great if he explains how to do things in his class.
Have him for AP chem this year, the way he teaches is strict, but he knows how to do his job. AP test was the easiest thing I've ever taken in my life.
He is the worst teacher I have ever, and out of all my teachers he is the worst human being. He made me cry, and there are countless others to whom he's done the same. He's demeaning and makes you feel worthless. He picks on those that he knows will crumble. He pulled me across his classroom by my shirt collar as if I was an animal on a leash. If I could have him fired I would. He's just a negative influence.
The most DIFFICULT TEACHER EVER. I want to cry from being in his class. Tests have like a 50% fail rate and he has ruined many a good kids chances of getting into the colleges of their dreams. He knows his chemistry but he can make you feel so terrible and degraded that you almost want to give up even. He has the ability to make anyone from a little girl to the toughest jock you know cry. If you can transfer out DO IT SPARE YOURSELF THE PAIN OF BEING IN HIS CLASS.
mr.orme's chemistry class is one of the most difficult classes on campus. his way of teaching is hard to understand, and he is always sarcastic that it is hard to know if he is serious or not. he never answers your questions, but when he does, he replies back with a sarcastic answer. he gets off topic a lot, and his quizzes and tests are impossible to pass. if you have mr.orme, TRANSFER OUT!!
He's willing to sacrifice his time to help you out, but he is really strict and his class is difficult. He never listens to you and will constantly make you feel worthless and like you don't deserve to succeed. He picks on some people for the littlest things and is very sarcastic. But overall, if you really want to learn chemistry, he is a great teacher and he's nice to you if you talk to him and seem like you care about the class. Just read the book and prepare yourself well and you'll do well.
If you get stuck in his class, do yourself a favor and GET OUT!
He knows what he is teaching, and that's a good thing. Most teachers are incompetent in the subjects they teach. He just can be a grumpy old man. If you want to have fun during lecture time, ask him a
He may not be the easiest teacher, or the most fun either...But for sure, you'll learn a great deal from Orme. He pushes you to do your best, like a good teacher should. If I had to pick which Chemist
I did not like him or his class. He was very sarcastic and would talk to you like you had no intelligence. He tells AP they would all fail the AP test and that they would never become chemists.
good teacher but can be mean sometimes. just pay attention.
He's an ok teacher, but he can be insensitive sometimes.
Mr. Orme is a good chem teacher, but does not understand that kids learn differently. Doesn't let you take notes. Just make sure to do all of your homework and if you need help, just ask him politely.
Okay, he's an amazing teacher and knows everything. But I think he's a bit intimidating. Don't act stupid or else. Otherwise he's chill and cool.
He's intimidating, but he teaches very well. He'll help you at lunch if you need anything and he's really nice outside of classtime (lunch). His tests are usually okay as long as you study for them.
Knows how to teach chem. You'll understand if you pay attention. Is the best at terrorizing students to the point where they are too frightened to ask for help. Awful personality. Lame jokes too.
Basically.. don't slack, do your work, study, and try. I honestly think he's the best Chem teacher at FV. He knows what he's talking about and he really does want you to do well in his class.
had him last year 08-09 ..he is the bst teacher i had ever got ..he pushes hard, bt rlly if u do the work he says u'll bcom a chem expert. he is really awesome just listen 2 him. ull get the chemistry
can be very intimidating, but you know he's actually one of those teachers who genuinely care
He does insult and verbally attack his students, but he never means anything serious by it. He's overall a good teacher, and he likes to see his students learning or improving.
Agg. He hates the sophmores in AP chem. He picks on people for no reason, but mostly, everything depends on his mood.
tends to insult students a lot but generally a good teacher. willing to help students and his stories are entertaining.
He can be moody sometimes, but he really cares about his students and wants them to succeed. He is happy to help you and answer questions outside of class.
hes the worst teacher ever. didnt learn anything from him and i would listen.
he's mean. he constantly degraded and insulted us. i know a couple of people who are not taking apchem because he is teaching it.
everybody around me said they hated him, but, personally, he was a pretty cool teacher. he made science easy and has great teaching methods. go tan A+ through ojt the whole year. easiest class i had
i think he's funny. i know chemistry and the people who study get good grades. a lot of people get good grades in this class
so i didnt like him as a teacher but i learned alot form his class, i hated having to go to his class, but i was truely the only class that i ever learned anything in.
He doesnt humiliate students. He asks questions. Keep up with the class. He's good - if you want to learn something. He has no patience with slackers.
i worship mr. orme he's so funny and i actuly got a B in his class which was a first for me in the science department : )
He's an overall good guy. His jokes are... interesting. But I think we actually learn chem. He can be pretty funny sometimes.
So many stories about chemical jobs makes this boring class less boring. We learn a lot too.
He makes sure you kNOW the chem, but he is HARD! The can lab was cool though.
Notes are boring - but he says funny stuff (Lance Armstrong) I'd give him all 5's if he brought in popcorn again.
The gizmos cool. Its better than notes. HEs funny too.
The only life science teacher that teaches stuff. Bill Nye is not deadd!
he blinks a lot...especially when you get up when ur not supposed to, so i think one day, one whole class should just stand up and walk towards him and see what he does
Takes time when we need it. Hayyy hes a nice guy. Just come to class and do what yer supposed to.
He's not easy, but not hard! I like him but he can be really mean!
He is not the hardest chem teacher, and he is not the easiest - but Mr. Orme is the best chem teacher at the school.
when someone asks a question, it'd be helpful if he would actually answer it :O
He seems to favor certain students, and he picks on other students.
