Very, extremely disorganized! I don't know why people says that she is so good!
Spanish 1 is a little bit dry, but she make classroom environment very enjoyable, and is quite helpful when you are confused. Seems to have favorites, and calls on the people who don't know what they're doing a little too often, which makes me feel bad for them. But overall she is a very enthusiastic and nice teacher.
extremely boring and is a very dificult teacher
She is very reliant on the textbook and makes Spanish class boring. The students dread walking in to her room. She constantly lectures students and obviously chooses favorites. The class is incredibly simple, but expect to walk in to her room and do nothing but sit and read from the textbook. Overall, she's just a boring, strict, useless teacher. Honestly, I never paid attention in her class (just read the book at home) and still got an A so...
Dr. Henriquez is a fairly good teacher that can help ensure that you pass your exams, however, she is majorly inconsistent from class to class and with her homework that she assigns, and she can be inconsiderate with the way she talks to her students sometimes. With that being said, she is definitely to be considered one of the better Spanish teachers at Suncoast.
Dr. Henriquez favors the smart MSE kids in the class. She discriminates and if she does not like you, she will constantly pick on you and call on you in class. She gets off topic and calls everyone "son." Many of her favorites obviously cheat on tests and use theirphones and she doesn't do anything about it. When someone she doesn't like uses their phone, it is immediately confiscated. She tells the class how lazy everyone is and complains. She only plays the fast listening orals once on tests.
She is extremely passionate about teaching and although she diverges from the topic at hand quite often she is still extremely helpful. I am happy to have had her as a teacher because she always wants her students to succeed and if you do your work you will get along really well with her. She is very open to new ideas and she accepts that everyone has differing points of views and she will always trys to help everyone. If you pay attention to her you will be successful on your language exams.
Best spanish teacher at suncoast.
I hope for everyone to have her! The best Spanish teacher at Suncoast!
Just so everyone here knows, the poor written things about her are all written anoymonously by the worst Spanish teacher at Suncoast- Ms. Estes. Please do not be fooled. My child adored her and achieved a 7 on her exam with dr henriquez.
All I have learned with her is how not to talk to other Spanish teachers, how to dislike them because if we do then she takes it against you, then she does whatever it takes to make you feel bad and looks at you in a very mean way!
She knows Spanish, no doubt! If people have 96% is because she gives you the grade, not because you are learning! She had so many problems with grades in the past that now she doesn't care anymore! I can guaranteed you that you are just saying that because you don't have to work hard in that class. A grade doesn't represent how much you know, not in her class! Let's see if you are going to earn a 7 in the IB exam! or if you are going to post your grades from college if you get there?!
Doctora Henriquez is not a bad teacher. I went into her AP Lit class to learn how to speak fluently and I did. Yes, her class is hard at times. Yes, she expects a lot from her students (and they're scared to speak half the time because they might make a mistake). Overall, her class (usually taught ALL in spanish) taught me to analyze literature from el siglo de oro to the modern period. If you find fault with it (in a normal IB spanish class) then you probably just had easy teachers before.
She makes the class harder than it strictly should be, and class grades don't really correlate with the eventual IB exam grade.
They say that she is a good teacher, however I don't know why. When you ask for help, all she does is give you a dictionary. She really doesn't help.
She is by far the scariest teacher I've ever had. I never knew what to expect when I went to her class. I must admit though that towards the end of the year, i really began to respect and admire her. She's a caring and intelligent teacher that I'll never forget. She's also a huge feminist and isn't afraid to admit it.
Everyone saids she is the best, but for real she is not. She doesn't teach and is always doing whatever during class, while we are working.
Certainly a rose among thorns-- along with Estes, really the only intelligent Spanish Teacher in the Foreign Language Department. Does seem a bit spacey sometimes, though...
Dr. Henriquez pushes you hard but you WILL learn, and she is a very smart, very considerate lady who is really committed to her students.
I think Henriquez would be a terrific teacher in a class other than Spanish. No one is willing to really make a committment to learning the language.
nobody, i mean less than 5% of the class understands what she's saying
