Mr. Boswell has been my teacher for the past three years and the past four years for many of my classmates. His teaching style is not gentle but it is effective. I feel I have a grasp of concepts and attitudes surrounding film and the film community, for the most part from his candid demeanor and honest feedback. Anyone seriously considering pursuing film should take this class first.
I have so much respect for Mr.Boswell. I honestly don't know how I could have gone through high school without him. He's a mentor, but only if you are actually serious about your work. He's sassy and funny and passionate about his work. He'll help you discover the beauties of film as an art form and teach you if you are willing to learn. Critics are harsh yet necessary, this is really a class for people who are passionate about film, its not really an elective even if the credits are.
very difficult at times, can be a little self-centered and arrogant, but it's only because he's aware that he is an fantastic teacher and he knows more about film than the textbook. he's hilarious and, while he does seem to pick favorites, his favoritism is based on whether or not you work hard in his class and turn in work you're proud of. he's really pushing his students to do well and to love film. also, he may or may not own an island named after himself. only time will tell.
Does not to well to work to understand students when there are misunderstandings between him and the teacher. He is nice when in the right mood, but if not can be hard to communicate with.
Cool teacher and helpful when you ask for help, but also not an easy teacher. You have to really want a good grade and be completely serious about his class.
Knows what he's talking about, but can be very hard to understand. Tends not to listen to dissenting opinions.
he does listen to other opinions he cant agree with us all the time he is a good debater and actually makes u think enjoy his class
boswell cannot seem to put his classes or his shows ahead of himself.
its pretty sad when a teacher favors other students on purpose just because they share the same interests...listens to know opinions in class but his own
he's clearly passionate about theater. he may, however, be more passionate about himself.
He's an insightful, challenging teacher, but can be incredibly unpleasant to deal with. He takes himself way too seriously for a high school teacher/director.
I don't have a drama or Boswell English student, but go to BCC's productions. I'd really like to see something not so avant-garde for a change. It's getting weird and unenjoyable.
an amazing director, made me feel welcome as a freshman. can be annoying tho. favors his theatre crew...
boswell's the man. if he likes you, if not, you're screwed.
Boz is awesome!! he made me feel really welcome in the theatre program and he is a great teacher! he is also an amazing director.
i look forward to his class...don't take theater if you want an easy fine arts credit because he actaully makes you work but if you care at all, it's awesome!!!
A great director. His class is challenging but not too hard. If you actually work in his class, you will get a good grade.
I enjoyed this class its not a blow off but you have to work It something you will appreciate later on
Mr. B is an awesome director he really knows what he's talking about. He tries to get the best out of you. just, don't make him mad. He breaks clipboards.
alwasy has to play devils advocate but he does provoke good debatre in class and his assignments are a challenge for the weak
I take Humanities. It's incredibly easy yet frustratingly boring, unless you ENJOY challenging his devil's advocate position on everything philosophical.
Mr. Boswell is awsome and he isnt boring like most of the teachers. You actually learn stuff in his class too
in 9th grade i loved to hate him. i'd never worked so hard in an eng class. prepared me for IB & college. it's true when he says it's about quality not effort
I love Boz - he's my favorite teacher EVER! I've never worked with a more thoughtful or intellegent director.
he seems very unaccepting of creativity in english. he doesnt allow us to make interperations on our own, but rather, makes us conform to his unquestioningly.
he can be very stubburn when it comes to new ideas and suggestions. He will often set out on an idea and hate everyone who questions him
hard, yes, but good guy? totally. you never know until you see him outside of school, really funny and great guy
boswell is a teacher who teaches his way and doesnt accept change. his methods are unclear and this hurts your grade. quit teaching english and stick to theater
The best english and theater teacher i've ever had. i've never learned more in one class.
BEST TEACHER EVER!!! ok, so he's a little arogant, and he can be kind of stuborn,... I better stop now. YOU ROCK BOSWELL!
Wants his way all the time--but who doesn't...had theater with him...interesting to say the least--as a teacher, wouldn't know--cept what I hear
Boz, a cool man, who teaches a very hard class. I can't think of a more boring way to teach, but a chill man. He loves the theater what can I say.
Greatest teacher i've ever had. Awesome guy. Funny, hard working, seroius about teaching. Definitely a teacher you'd want to have.
stop the hate, ya'll. and thanx boswell for everything.
Ahhh mr boswell's teaching style for english is infuritating. but somehow I still come out of the class feeling blaming it on his style instead of him.
One of my favorite teachers ever...I've learned so much. Thanks Boswell! :)
Mr. Boswell is the single most frustrating teacher at B-CC. Not only do students learn nothing in his classes, except about his self-righteous opinions, but Boswell resents the success of his students. Bowell has turned many students away from theater.
one of the hardest teachers in the school--but one of the best...theater rules too! yay for boswell!
