I graduated in ''01 and he was probably the best teacher in the school back then. I had no background in music, but really took to his approach.

The people who don't like Doc Finn usually don't have an appreciation for music, in any sense of the word. Doc Finn is the best music teacher in the entire school and it's a shame the school refuses to invest more resources in the music department. Doc Finn is the core of the music department and he's a fantastic guy, and I had the pleasure to get to know him.

He takes music seriously (obviously, he has a doctorate in it). I have nothing against him personally, I just don't believe music should be required.

Knows music, good teacher, class isn't too difficult if you put the effort into learning the material. Still, not very approachable, which can intimidate freshmen. Also, did not have a terribly interesting class, which is unusual for music.

Give Finnegan a break. He's a good guy, those who hate him don't know him enough. Freshman music is easy if you just spend 5 minutes doing the chapters.
