If you put in the work, you will succeed in Mr. Lazar's class. He's an interesting guy but is very passionate about what he teaches.

I love this guy. I have him for Calc BC and he is certainly extremely knowledgable. Just read first couple of pages of his master's thesis (scholarworks.sjsu.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1135&context=etd_theses) and it will be clear that whatever he teaches probably seems like the ABCs to him. He has a soothing voice but teaches well and is very approachable. Does not mind much if you are late or doing other classwork. If you ask him for help on CS/C++ he will be able to help you out.

When I met Matthew Lazar in Peninsula area, he was working as a Sport Scientist specialized in "Yellow Line Marking" on televised football games. Although he enjoyed his excelled skills and knowledge utilizing the allied mathemathetics, I told him that he'd better off be a teacher. In 2001, he got the job as math teacher and he produced excellent students ended up in Yale, etc.
I was glad to see he is getting the excellent reviews.
Parent.

Hopefully, this class will prep me for the AP test. But it's really easy, he's really nice, and makes you feel guilty about sleeping all the time. Talks around your questions, sometimes.
