If you're taking APUSH make sure to read the textbook!!!!! Course notes won't give you all the info you need to get higher than a C on the quizzes and tests. Also make sure you're reading it at a steady pace. Beware that shes a really hard grader on essays and short answer which can bring your grade down a lot. This class won't be bad if you keep up with your reading
Iron Lung Galvin... She is the most skilled orator at East. Her class is well organized. She's extremely knowledgeable. Sure she may be cold, but she's an excellent teacher. She's also extremely liberal (as are most kids at East) so she does have a relatable attribute. To survive you will need to read the textbook on schedule and be involved in class discussion. Her class resembles a college course in the way that only the top 5-10% of students receive A grades.
Okay I don't know why everyone else isn't giving her fives, but she is the best teacher at East. Yes, she's probably the hardest but she is an incredible teacher (and person) and her class made the AP exam seem like a piece of cake. Mo' is the lady
She is a cold-hearted, intimidating and might make you cry. However, she knows history well.
Her class is really hard because your only grades are basically quiz and test. Her quiz always feels to me more challenging than the test, and she grades essays really strictly. So beware if your writing skills are weak, it can bring down your test and class grades SOO much. But her lectures are really interesting, and definitely go during lunch time for help and review your test & quiz.
Her APUSH class was hard but enjoyable, she knows everything really well, good prep for the AP test, tests are tough and very specific. Print out notes for the quizzes!!!
Amazing teacher! Although she may at first appear strict and unapproachable, she is always willing to help you improve. Very knowledgeable, and presents it in a way anyone can understand. Great class
Great teacher! She prepares you really well for the AP exam... but her class is pretty challenging. If you work hard you'll probably get a B, it takes quite a bit of effort to get an A...
Simply the best at what she does - I still clearly remember random details from APUSH last year. A harder grader on essays than the AP readers, but almost everybody in her class is set for a 5.
great teacher who really makes the class interesting. grading and tests are borderline rediculous
I've only been in her APUSH class for a few weeks, but it's already the most absorbing class I've taken in high school. She treats us like college students. Not easy, but it is a fantastic class.
Ms. Galvin not only knows her stuff, she has a passion for teaching that you can't find in that many teachers any more. Frankly, her class is hard. But it was one of the most rewarding classes I took.
Very hard class and sometimes she is unclear on assignments but she is one of the best teachers at east. You learn so much and she is extreamly helpful. She obviously has a great passion for history.
Ms. Galvin is awesome and really passionate. If you aren't scared off by the difficulty of her AP course, it's a great class. She clearly loves her subject.
Ms. Galvin is the best history teacher I've ever had. That being said, she's the hardest history teacher I've ever had. The way she grades, it's almost impossible to get an A. Good luck!
Ms. Galvin is fantastic --- by far the best history teacher I've ever had. She is so knowledgeable and passionate about what she teaches --- really superior.
Her class is manageable if you READ THE BOOK.not that hard.take good notes and PAY ATTENTION IN CLASS.it's an easy formula. Study+take notes+pay attention=A.stop whining abt a teacher who challenges u
The BEST history teacher i've ever had. Know what she's talking about and goes over things so that everyone can understand. Very fair with grading too.
ms. galvin is probably one of the best teachers i have had in high school; and she's really nice
Ms. Galvin is a really good teacher, if you work in her AP US class, by the end of the year you'll learn SO much about US History. Its definitely hard to get an A, but its an AP class so it should be.
The people who complains should start working harder. Its a great class with a great teacher. Stop complaining and start reading the book.
Ms.galvin is a great teacher. She is totally awesome and she will probably be the best history you will ever have. She is extremely helpful.
Her enthusiasm and knowledge gave me a new appreciation for history. She's helpful, friendly and respectful. An A is possible - just work.
I rated her with cool cuz I think I am about the only one who is on her good side. So she is nice to me.
she knows alot about history, but her teaching style is dry and boring.
I had her for AP US and it was very hard. I hear her World History isn't nearly as bad though.
