She honestly hated on me until I dropped Latin. The course isn't supposed to be honors, or AP; but she definitely treats it like it is. I honestly believe that she tries to remove these comments.
If you don't understand Latin, don't take it. It is not Magistra's job to force you to study.
Magistra is probably one of the most organized and one of the smartest teachers I have ever known. Anyone who feels that she is not helpful is not doing enough work and should drop down to a lower level class.
She is a smart person who loves learning different languages, however don't let this fool you. She will help you learn a little latin, but any other support outside of class is not there. After I repeatedly asked her for help after school, she finally sent me an email saying I either had to step it up, or leave latin, (which was not her call to make.) At the beginning of the year, she openly lets you know that she attempts to filter out the average and lower kids. She also thinks tank tops = ok!
A smart lady who clearly shows a burning desire for the Latin Language. She is well educated, and wants everyone to prosper in her class. However in her mind, Lain should be everyone's first priority, and is unfair with her grading. She shows no effort to relate to her students and at the end of the day, yes you will know some latin, but you will have no desire to incorporate it into your life and you will be happy to never have to touch latin again in your life. Least fav class cuz of her.
This is a teacher who expects only and helps only students who are renowned for their A averages. She knows what she is teaching, yes. However is reluctant to help those in need. Her Latin class is not for average students, only those aiming to be Valedictorians. Very harsh with grading and relentless homework, her class was only enjoyable when she was in a pleasant mood. Very intimidating and loves to present the class with a student's personal flaws and problems. A smart woman but mean.
Best teacher I've ever had. I'm finishing up college now, and I still stand by that.
i think she is the best teacher i have ever had, challenging class, learned a lot, over all she is just an amazing person.
If you actually want to learn, Magistra is the best teacher. If you want an easy class stay away because her classes require your undivided attention. Overall, my favorite teacher of all time!
Knows way too many languages for her own good, yet still a great teacher.
Magistra! shes pretty much the coolest teacher there -aticus
She's a great teacher. She really enjoys Latin and knows the subject extremely well.
The homework is predictable and helpful. She keeps the class under control. If she chews people out a bit, they deserve it.
