Newton is a very nice lady and if you pay attention in her class even though it is very boring you will become a very good writer. She grades tough, but it is just to make her students better.

Ms. Newton is one of the worst teachers my son has ever had, she makes little sense to most of the classes she has, and while she has the potential to be helpful she comes off as an old, tired, and mean person. She should not have been teaching this long and hopefully she will be fired soon. I recently had a parent teacher conference with her, and she called my son a stupid kid becuase he apparently doesn't pay attention in class.

After hearing that Mrs. Newton has been teaching in high school for over 30 years I was very excited to have her as a teacher. At the beginning of the 2015-2016 school year she treated us nicely, and gave the perfect amount of homework. As the year progressed she started getting irritable. She would grade things as if we were seniors while treating her favorite students exceptionally well. I have only had 1 truly terrible teacher in my life, but after Mrs. Newton it's two.

Lots of students don't appreciate Mrs. Newton, but I learned to respect her. Yes, her teaching style is different, but after taking her class I became more aware of what I was reading and learned to appreciate the literature. She is great at teaching grammar, and really helped me to develop my writing for my research paper. I wish I had been as thankful for her in class as I am now. She's a wonderful person and genuinely cares about helping her students if you give her the chance.

Mrs. Newton is not helpful at all. When she reads outloud to the class she misses words and changes some around. She never knows what's going on. She tries to act like she knows but she has no clue.

She taught me a lot about grammar, mechanics, and how to get good grades... but her arguments made little sense and she was irritating, so class was unpleasant.
