Ummm, how should I put it... "pure evil" might be the closest words to describe her. I had her for Freshman year bio and let me tell you something, my regents grade was way higher than the near-to-failing grade she gave me. I'm just glad she retired. That way no more children would have to suffer from her cruelty.
yeah Dr. Stein is very knowledgeable in science, but she is a very difficult teacher. She won't explain something to you if you ask for help because she'll say that she already said it before. Her tests are very difficult and reading from the textbook will not help you. She will use things she's said in class on tests/quizzes. Her quizzes are harder than her tests. Good luck to you if you have her for a teacher!
Dr. Stein is a very strict teacher. She does not mind if the entire class fails her tests/quizzes. Although she is very knowledgeable, she does not do a good job and sharing her knowledge with her students. She speaks very quietly and gets mad when we are not sure of what to do. It is very hard to pass her class because she is strict in her grading system.
She's a very strict teacher. Never be late to her class!!! Had her for bio and bio lab freshmen yr. She's a very good teacher and explians things well but she dictates so you have to take a lot of notes. Her test are real simple if you pat attention in class. If you have her for bio-lab you might be confused because her instructions doesn't always makes sense. Overall she's a good teacher who has your best interest whether you notice it or not.
SHE IS THE WORST TEACHER IN THE WORLD... SHE SMILES WHENEVER SHE GIVES BACK OUR FAILING TESTS. YOU SHOULD GET OUT OF HER CLASS QUICK IF YOU END UP WITH HER.
she's so mean y can't she just teach us whats on the regents instead of this ap crap that none gets she sucks
MOST HATEFUL B1T( H EVER. SHES NOT EVEN QUALIFIED AS A B1T( H. SHE HATES EVERONE ABSOLUTLY EVERYONE. SHE THINKS SHES DOING YOU A FAVOR BY FAILING YOU! PS Shes pretty cool when shes not yelling (shes always yelling)
Dr. Stein seems to know all there is to know but is not good at passing it on to us. Every class all she does is make us write the same definitions we had to do for homework. Her explanations are bad tests are easier then her quizzes. But even with that, you have no chance of passing her class. Another thing is Participation. She expects us to answer her questions to get full class participation but it is impossible for everyone to get 100 cause she asks about 5 questions a quarter BEWARE STEIN
Stein is a very knowledgable teacher overall but i feel as if she does not teach properly. she just talks all period and expects you to get down notes about the topic that she is discussing. she also uses these volcabulary that most arent able to comprehend. Other then this, she is an okay teacher. failing her class is more likely than to pass her class. you would have TO WORK HARD!
Very hard class, better do your prelabs and do not copy anyones work. She will destroy u and the person u copied from. U will **** in her class.
I had her freshmen year and I was one of those students who slept and still did well. I got a 85 in her class the entire year. She is strict, just do what she tells you and study independently.
Pretty strict at first, but just do the work and listen to her instructions carefully. She isn't too fond of repeating herself. Overall, she's actually a really great Bio teacher, just REALLY strict. Don't take her personally, it's just her job. :)
Dr.Stein is amazing and really knowledgeable ! She's the best , if you get her you are the luckiest freshman on earth ! People say bad stuff about her, but she is really nice ! Just work hard , and you will not fail Dr.Stein's class :) Dr.Stein is the best and I miss her ! She will teach you valuable things , that you will use in life ! Love her ! :)
When it comes to labs...... you are screwed. Make sure your labs are horribly excellent because those labs count towards you grade and she will take off many points off your lab for some stupid mistake.
You hate her and you love her. but she's a real biologist (or was anyway) and knows a lot of interesting stuff. she's probably half the reason my major is biology (: she gets a bad rap from most of the lazy students who really dont deserve good grades and just hate her because she gives you EXACTLY what you deserve.
shes okay sometimes, can be mean and if you get on her bad side , she will pick on you the rest of the year. Today we got back a test that every failed...not with a 65 but 50 and below...
I totally agree with the person below. Dr.Stein is not that hard to pass, her test are fairly simple. Remember to study on your own because she doesn't give out class reviews before a test. All in all, she really challenges you and prepares you for the future. Those kids trolling are just not getting the fact that in order to succeed you must work hard! Listen to her advices, make note-sheets, and outlines!
Dr. Stein changed my whole outlook on Biology. She was one of the few teachers who pushed me to my limit and really multiplied my love for Biology. All of you guys that are hating don't understand that she's the best damn Bio teacher you will ever have.
okays in reality, dr. stein is actually a pretty good teacher. but someone alot of people tend to fail or close to failing, her tests are specific and after u had her as a teacher you keep thinking that your other science testes are that hard ish i guess, thats what i feel like everytime for chemistry :T life changer.
Stein is a good teacher but the reason some peopel fail is that people are afriad to ask questions.
i had her for bio lab last year and it was very hard in the beginning because she isnt very good at explaining what you have to do, but it got easier after that, once everybody got used to the way she teaches
she is a decent teacher but truthfully shes not that clear and not very helpful considering how if you ask a question for something she said 2 months ago or anything slightly irrelevent she'll just yell at you. her tests really are killer, i suggest blowing off all other hw you have and just studying for that test. We can understand strict teachers but shes somewhat over the top. and be afraid of her.
Shes a nice lady even when we all had terrible marks on our tests after hours of studying the past week. At first we believed were poor students, but she does a bad job in being clear with her lessons since the majority of the class is lost. Just do your homeworks to pass, her tests are a killer and makes you really doubt your performance on the regents (which turns out to be real straightforward... unlike her class). I'd recommend reading the textbook often, shes a pain but has good intentions.
An okay teacher. Has alot of notes on the board. Her tests are all from the regents. I hated her quizes.
I was the one who wrote on 9/13/2010. Actually, Dr. Steain turns out to be a very nice and interesting teacher. Just make sure you dont fool around and ask "dumb" questions.
Dr. Stein is a very good teacher. If you listen to the lesson and complete the homework you should do okay on her exams even though they are extremely hard. Do not call her Ms. Stein or she will yell at you. Do not ask her to repeat instructions.
shes alright, and remember if you have her for lab write Dr. Stein for you teacher and not Ms. Stein or else she will take off points
she expects you to do everything yourself. good thing is, she preps you with regents practice all year long.
shes awesome though my friends all hate her. grades are nery fairr, doesnt pick favorites
IM GONNA FKING FAIL THE BIO REGENTS CUZ A HER! AND i hate how she says "your being lazy" no we aren't WE STUDy OUR BUTTS OFF to do what? get 64- on her super hard tests? AND even though all of that I love DR.Stein - even though she yells at me shes probably the best teacher I had before =D
The way that Dr Stein teaches is complicated, and sometimes she can be a bit mean, but sometimes if you actually look on the bright side, she can be really nice. Just dont tick her off and just pay attention in class; and everything would go easy; and if you're failing, looking at that grade encourages you to do better.
having her for bio-lab is the worst! She takes off pts, if u dont write dr. stein wtf is tht???
hardest teacher to have for bio but you learn a lot of things that will stick to your head. you will never forget her however you think about her. really hard quizzes but if you put efforts to learn, it is an easy 85-90. really considerate of others. :)
Dr. Stein was the hardest teacher i ever had at tech, but also the best. You will hate her while in tech, thank her after the ap, and remember her for the rest of your life. She is probably the most intelligent individual in all of tech and far more caring than she lets on. Trust me, having her is more than just a good thing, its a huge step for the progression of your future. Dr. Stein, all i have to say is Thank you and i promise to do my best to make you proud.
hardest class evr, but you learn EVERYTHING. appreciate her -- she shows you what the real world is like. it's tough. quizzes are impossible unless you rly know the chapter. work hard, u'll get a 5
She basically repeats almost exactly what the textbook says in class. Her quizzes are pretty pointless, since there are NO FILL INS on the AP. She's also very intimidating and hard to approach.
dr. stein is a great teacher, and she explains things in great detail. i'm pullin' an 85, and i'm learning a great deal of material.
shes very helpful. she tries her best to explain the material..she will give you many chances (some you dont deserve) to do well.she's very fair, and definitely over works you. But you learn a ton.
here's the absolute truth...if you try and STILL fail all her tests with 45s and she gives you a 65 average. you get a 3 on the AP exam. if you get like 80s, that's a 4-5. if you get mid 80s, that's h
she teaches like college professors & that's good b/c it prepares us. her fav. words are "shame on you"
she will try to get every source possible 2 try 2 xplain the material. she probably works harder than da entire class put 2gether. just respect her & dont slack off> guaranteed a 5!- <3 u marina
one of the best AP bio teachers in the school, I guess alot of high school students dont realize what it's like once you get to college but i would have to say that her class is a pretty accurate example of how its going to be. thanks to Dr. Stein i got a 5 on the AP exam and now that i am actually in college im getting good grades in my biology classes without having to go to my classes, all because i remeber what i was taught in her class. If you cant handle this get ready for a hard time once college come
You never know what to expect. Sometimes I think she is the best teacher, and then she does something totally mean. I guess nobody is perfect
Can't teach. Lectures monotonously without caring about the students. Never asks a question of anyone, i get to sleep in her class. Hates everyone. I tried to ask her to clarify something, she yelled at me. I'll probably do badly on the AP because of her. Mr. Orna, where are you!
It's been getting a lot better. The classes are much more interesting, amd Dr. Stein has really become nicer. I am really looking forward to her classes.
Her quiz: ____ does ___ so ___ is associated with ____. She's okay as a person but as as teacher I don't know. Might as well read the textbook and pass her class but good handouts.
Dr. Stein is one of the toughest teachers in the school. However, she is doing this out of love and she has helped me grow as a person.
All she does is lecture. Everything is straight out of the txtbook. You just need to look at notes and the book to pass. Just bring a tape recorder and pillow
i hope to have her in the spring. she is a very easy to talk to.
If you can't stand her, don't bother going to college- I rarely went to class in college and aced the exams thanks to her notes and handouts. She's the best.
she actually teaches and strives to bring out the best in her students...
hard, you will learn if you read the book...plus she cant get her ideas straight
She's always good to her word! couldn't be where i am without her!she's the best
seriously, thank u for believing in me since the 1st day of freshman yr,i love u
Dr.Stei, u helped me and guide me so much, you simply are the best , LOVE YOU
Had her for a lab coverage and she kept yelling at us over nothing
Her class feels 3 times longer than all the other classes.
do your work..thats all she asks, all colleges will ever ask, grow up.do your work
Sometimes when im in her class, i'd rather be a vampire walking on mad crosses.
these things get quite interesting when we start looking at it.
i had her all year long and she was MEAN!!!!does not need a halloween costume
So boring, unbelivably boring, you'd be amazed how boring
