Great guy teaches well
A true professional, incredible teacher
Passionate about music and his students. My favorite teacher for 3 years
HE IS THE BEST TEACHER I HAVE EVER KNOWN ON THIS CAMPUS. FOR EXAMPLE, IN ORCHESTRA, THERE IS NO OTHER TEACHER THAT CAN MATCH HIS CONDUCTING SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE ABOUT MUSIC! ALSO, HE IS VERY NICE TO HIS STUDENTS.
Boitz is a LEGEND... BEST TEACHER EVER!
Awesome teacher and conductor
Mr. Boitz is an an amazing director. I've had 3 students in his program, and experiences in the Saratoga HS Band and Orchestra have been the highlights of our high school career.
He is passionate, fun, and I love coming to orchestra with him
He is pretentious and doesnt treat people with respect.
He's the real thing. He's tough if you're spoiled and lazy, though.
Best teacher I've had
Expects way too much time commitment... Acts as if students have nothing but band and school in their lives...
Every day I walk into the music building greeted by Mr. Boitz. This guy loves music, loves his students, and he's hilariously singing in the morning to wake us up. He works really hard to get to know all of the students and he is very welcoming. He is extremely busy because there is always so much going on because kids want to be there. He is strict and expects a lot out of students and his staff because he cares about excellence and we're acknowledged by him when we are achieving well.
This man is extreme immature. He constantly calls people out that he doesn't like. Many including myself, have quit band and orchestra due to his immaturity, even other music teachers who have gotten into conflict with him. Our music program is good because the students practice privately, not because he betters the program. It is only a matter of time before the admins sees this.

He seems to know music himself but has no idea how to teach it, and atrocious at relationships with students.
One of the worst teachers I have ever had. I would not even consider him to be a teacher. Many high schoolers (myself included) quit band just because of Mr. Boitz. If I were to give advice to any incoming SHS students, I would say play an instrument in an "outside band", either Vanguard or San Jose Youth Symphony. Do not waste your time doing SHS band, because within 4 years, Mr. Boitz will ruin any love that you had for music.
He is selfless and hard working like none other. He greets every student every day. I know for a fact how many rec letters he wrote for students this year, even at the last minute, and gave up his holidays to do this. His rehearsals are tough and sometimes painstakingly detailed, but engaging and exciting. He obviously loves music and helps his students to do the same. Alumni visit all the time because they loved being in band and orchestra and miss it, we will too.
He is a great musician and teacher. He is tough and expects a lot, but backs it up by working hard himself. His office is constantly busy with students wanting help, and he manages to help everyone wanting help.
hmmmm mixed feelings. he is a really great guy, but he's really greedy as well. Sure, he wants the band and orchestra to be their best, but pushes too far where it seems like all the work that students do is for his own benefit and his own pride. I still enjoy music and i enjoy his class, but i think things need to be toned down because honestly band isn't everything for the majority of the students. However, he's a frank guy and will even make you laugh occasionally.
Picks very obvious favorites and only cares for those he likes. If you are not a favorite, he won't even pay attention to you at all.
This guy picks favorites like no other. He also extremely favors Koreans...and boys...so basically if you're a Korean boy you are set! He has absolutely no musical inclination whatsoever and has no idea who can actually play their instrument. He's pretty selfish and only cares for his own reputation.
Ugh he thinks he is some awesome conductor but he's not and he's really moody humorous but only to his favorites
A pretty nice guy. He's also a pretty good teacher although he doesn't have any passion. But he's pretty humorous.
hes a nice guy but sometimes he gets really moody and says false things about the things he doesnt like. but overall a very nice and helpful teacher
I have never done anything wrong (actually i mostly do what im told ) and he blantantly and obviously hates me. Sometimes accuses me of things i didnt do. Def. has favorites.
Musically a great teacher, also does a lot of work to make the music department what it is. picks favorites though
pros: cares a lot about students - not just musically but as people. cons: plays favorites, can be moody
There is no denying that he plays favorites big time...but he's still a good teacher who has created a lively community within the school.
If you hate boitz, quit the class, because i'd say 99% of the people love him. If he doesn't like you, it's probably because you ditch or don't try or talk a lot in class. BOITZ IS BALLER
he puts band before everything, and picks favorites. if he hates you, he'll ruin your band experience
He is the best! He makes his classes a relax from this stressful school! He not only encourages you in your music, but also takes time to your well being @ skoo
I like this guy! He's my best teacher in high school!! Orchestra rocks!!
uh.band freak. too much of a band freak. its band b4 everything else. sucks for you if you have other outside activites. he doesn't care. its band first & all.
