Take his Great Books class and get to know him. A lot of things I could say about good old Mr. Crain, but I'll just say he's a really good guy with a lot of great ideas. Be sure to give him some heat if he comes in doing something dumb like wearing an Apple Watch, though. He has a great sense of humor.
Had him for after school work and had very good experiences.
Teaches AP now...better it seems
Best teacher in the entire school. He's clever and genuinely cares about his students. He mainly teaches AP Senior English, but I definitely recommend taking his Great Books Class. It's what I look forward to the most.
He has the admirable goal of teaching students to think for themselves. If only he was competant...
im in his class right now giving an inteteresting assignment but hes not going to enforce many of the "rules" hes telling now.
Mr. Crain was really interesting during first semester of Humanities, but then gave up and became jaded and bitter. :[ We did nothing second semester!
i had him freshman year for English, and now senior year for humanities...and i think he's really changed a lot...i mean, hes still unbelievably unorganized, and even though he cant keep a schedule, he still does an awesome job teaching and making u laugh
He is, by far, the best teacher I've ever had. Definitely specialized toward a certain kind of student. Classmates are often against me because they want to do as little thinking as possible. His class is ALL about thought and actual learning.
yeah he can be off somedays. he's ok but hsi sarcasm is too much
He is very unorganized and very inconsistent in his teachings.
really abstract...likes to try new methods to teach, and can be interesting, but is totally disorganized and lacks organizational skills to be an effective high school english teach...i agree that he can be sumwhat closeminded..but a fun class non the les
He talks on the phone all the time and doesn't teach us anything. Sometimes he forgets his lesson at home.
He is so disorganized and he looses his train of thought all the time. We never know what he is going to do next.
he's an amazing teacher who doesn't conform to the abhorent structure of a traditional classroom, but why would you want him to? i value classes in which i learn, not classes in which i can merely get by. thus, i enjoyed his class.
mr. crain's a good guy. he's just really unorganized so that kind of gets in the way of teaching. i learned a lot about life though. :)
He practices random acts of teaching. One day will be instructive and useful, the next the class plays scrabble while he says nothing all day.
Im not sure he knows what he wants to do, he gives us hwk and then says we dont need to turn it in.
he is ok i guess, very creative but i don't think he follows the syllabus very well, it's just very unexpected. but he was good with portfolios
He's unclear with assignments and piles them on. Yet he allows students to think their own way and work with their needs.
He is never very clear on assignments and is not very supportive of students and their work.
Has taught me of things I would have never known without his encouragement.
