He went out of the way with me. He loaned me his Leo Kottke record, and offered to teach me guitar. I was a troubled kid, and he sensed that, and tried to help. Where would the world be, without people like this?
One of my favorite teachers at Stuyvesant, not that there was a shortage of great teachers. Cared more about learning and engaging the students than about following any set of prescribed lesson points. Also was a real person. I may have gotten an embarrassingly low grade on the Regents after a year of his classes, but I learned how to solve real-world problems with math. Worthwhile trade. Plus I have a badass pair of speakers!!
Sigh, its too bad he retired. I am slightly suspicious, because it was really sudden
He retired. Was the best math teacher ever for all the reasons below
love himm, extremely happy he's my teacher. easy, nice, and fun, but he also teaches everything you need to learn, and he's helpful. ideal teacher :]
He's quite experienced and plays a mean classical guitar too! He knows very well how we students think
the nicest teacher i have ever met in my years as a student
He is by far my favorite teacher from Stuy and most ideal to have. I had him twice for Math, once for speaker building and got 100 all three times. Very easy, very nice, very laid back, very cool.
He's madd cool and it's easy to get a good grade in his class. Just come the day before the class starts because he does MAJOR test review. And he curves the tests too so you just can't fail his class
ideal teacher: never checks hw, doesn't yell, doesn't get upset, you can eat in class, you can sleep in class, you can play your PSP or listen to music and he doesn't notice =)
he's really cool and all but he doesn't teach what the other math teachers are teaching and thats whats gonna be on the final, im really worried that i'll fail the final because we're so behnd
Good teacher for dumb/lazy people like me. Never checks hw. I eat breakfast and do hw for other classes in his class.
mmm he's my favorite. he gave an 8 question test i got every single question wrong and he gave me an 85.
He's changed a bit and he won't let you do "anything" but he puts up with alot and if the class fails a class in the majority, u can retake it and get a 90+. Plus, though he gets off topic, in the end, u learn somethin.
Good teacher, but easy. I used to "go to the bathroom" every class and come back at the warning bell. I still got a 93 (which is my highest grade ever in any class). And he doesnt check hw ever, its just review for the tests
the greatest teacher at stuyvesant if you wan to learn hes the best if you dont just sit in the back or the front and play gameboy thats what i did and he gave me a 100
extremely easy. but he's sometimes boring because his voice is so soft. gets off topic but he's very nice. I cutted like 239743857 in this class too. But only come in to do good on tests and you`ll get passing grade.
Best teacher ever... He understands his students and handles everything very maturely. You can do ANYTHING in his class. ANYTHING. You can answer 1/8 ?s on the test and he'll give you a 65. Not too clear but so nice and cool.
He seems like a very nice guy, but doesn't connect with students and is almost too nonchalant. Still a great guy though.
He's really nice and helps you out if you have a problem. He goes off topic, but thats always fun cause its interesting. Not much homework and never on the weekend.
Mr. D'Alleva is a great teacher. Well, he goes off topic for a large part of the class, but that's all good. I think he is one of the smartest teachers I have. He doesn't give out too much hw, and rarely checks it.
He's cool. he doesn't check homework or give hw over the weekend
Slightly droning sometimes, but he recognizes the fact that his students are human, and will repeat everything until you get it.
VERY easy, i got a 1/5 on a quiz and he gave me a 90. you only have to do the hw and youll get high grades
Mr. Dalleva is the easiest math teacher where you can get high grades and still learn if you want to.
