I took Michael's Geometry class back in high school and at the time, I did not understand why he taught Geometry with such fervor or with such discipline—we were just high school kids!
I am now an officer in the United States Marine Corps and looking back, he is, bar none, the best instructor I have ever had—his discipline, teaching /why/ things worked rather than handing out formula lists for rote memorization, and his undying care.
Students and parents—be grateful.

To those who might have him in the future: don't be fooled by the negative and rather glib reviews of Mr. Kass. His class is intense and requires rigorous work; those who rate him poorly are probably

do not come into this class hoping to get an A without trying. his class takes a lot of effort. it is really hard. however, he is a really good teacher but he lacks fairness and is easily frustrated.

he is hard to get used to, but once you know his grading system it is not that hard to do well in his class, as long as your trying your hardest. he is also really good at explaining things.

Expect 2 and a half hours of homework. Minimum. Expect very hard tests. He has a very high expectation. Very, very hard grader.

Probably the best teacher I've had throughout my high school career. Yes, he's somewhat eccentric sometimes, but he teaches so clearly and articulately. His passion for Statistics is obvious :)

There is a lot of hw. But he is a superb stats teacher. Very clear and helpful. Bit harsh on grading tests though. He gives you food if you come after school and help! He for sure knows his stuff (unlike shultz).
