Doesn't know how to teach
HEY SIXTH PERIOD BIO FROM LAST YEAR!!! Don't know who you are, but I'm from that class too! Don't forget that there was also Julian Cross and Gino Semenza. Best class ever; I miss it so much :(
Hey was so nice, I had a crazy kid named Andy Chen in our class so I respect him for handling him. My suggestion is to ask him questions one v one and also do the Cornell notes every time, and relate it and go back and update them when you learn new things. His class always had me boarder line A, but in the end I only got three points from perfect on they final, I loved Mr. Appleman!!!!!!!!
Mr. Appleman is not only the best science teacher, but best teacher I've ever had. He is also just a really inspiring person; makes me want to be like him in the future. Shows that your love for anything has no bounds, by willing to literally go the extra mile for his students in order to further enhance their love of nature.
Without having him I would be a completely different person; never would've dreamed of being where I am now.
Mr. Appleman is overall a great teacher. He makes you think for yourself. However a little more guidance for the AP test would've been great.
Mr. Appleman has a great sense of humour, and really knows biology. You have to be able to take good notes to pass his class, but he is the best teacher I have ever had. Mr. Appleman is dedicated to this subject, his students, and the environment.
Miguel is dedicated to his students (he took us camping!) but it would be helpful if he were more dedicated to schedules and AP requirements. He knows his stuff 100%, so if (when) you get bored, ASK QUESTIONS and the class gets more interactive. APES is a great class, and I got a 4 on the exam...do the homework and stay on track of the topics the AP needs you to learn. If you're a tree hugger, you'll love him. If you wanna rack up your 5s on exams, take responsibility for some material yourself.
One of my favorite teachers I have ever had. He rewards hard work and won't leave you behind. Willing to help whenever you may ask for it and explains the information clearly and elegantly. You couldn't ask for a better bio teacher in the district.
Hardest class i've ever had but he helps to make sure you pass his class and i learned A LOT!
A dedicated teacher that is really passionate about the subjects he presides over. Yes, he presides. He's really intelligent and very helpful. His tests may seem a bit more open-ended though, in my opinion. Great class!
Very smart teacher, but also a really nice guy. I feel like he cares about his students and values their opinions, but isn't afraid to tell you you're wrong.
Incredible teacher. Tough tests, but he really covers a lot of material in the class. Easily one of the best teachers at SMHS.
The best science teacher I ever had at SMHS. Mr. Appleman is very supportive teacher, even if his classes are rigorous.
i highly recommend taking environmental science. its educational, fun, and a great challenge! plus mr. appleman is just the icing on the cake :)
The hardest class i have ever had, almost impossible to keep an A, but cool teacher.
Super hard teacher, but AWESOME PERSON.He has super powers!
A funny, helpful environment-loving biology teacher. You learn ALOT in his class.
Mr. Appleman is difficult with his homework and quizzes but is the BEST Biology teacher there at San Mateo!
tough. really tough notes everyday if you can get past that then pass lol
Mr. Appleman was not only a brilliant teacher, but an incredible person that deeply inspired me. He made my life meaningful in terms of the environment and opened me up to the limitless world of bio.
Pay attention and take notes. His class can be intresting and a good place to catch up on sleep, if you don't mind missing a couple things. The names of his homework are the best.
Hes a cool teacher, but you just have to ask questions if youre not understanding something because then he'll just move on and you won't understand the rest.
he would explain things to you only if you asked.. the reason why people don't ask is because he's sort of intimidating..
It's easy to get an A as long as you pay attention and do the homework. Make sure you take good notes...he grades them during notebook checks.
he didn't really care if the students learned or not, but if you asked him a question, he would help you.
He is fun if you have a good class, but he is hard, so wrok hard
