I'd rather fast for a year drinking only battery acid than have this teacher for a week. She is the devil incarnate and I suggest all those who end up with her to bring a bible with you whenever you have her. Stay safe

She literally reads the notes and tries to trick you on tests... all her notes are from Mrs. Sitkewich

Do you want to be happy now or later? This was the first question Montgomery asked. Because we're so obsessed with getting great grades we have completely neglected this question. we're going to school to learn, not to be happy. Throughout the school year, I contemplated suiside because of the difficulties of my 6th grade PE Class. However, because I knew she was always with (and inside me), I knew that there someone that cared about me. That why when I got my first D, I finally became happy

Don't even think about taking Pre-Calculus Honors or Calculus BC because your life will be over.

Extremely challenging class, but she's amazing

As a parent it has been hard to watch what a demoralising effect this teacher and her class have had. We had heard she was a good teacher although a bit hard (complete understatement). Being a sophomore where grades count, this teacher tells the class that the class average should be a C and so made her tests harder! The whole "finding happiness" talk is so phony, and I wish she would find some real empathy and try to help students learn. I can never understand this test to break mindset :-(

She is not kind to students, random inflammatory comments to students. Leland needs to get ride of her. Leland's Math and Physics is already very weak and with these types of poor quality teachers about misleading the future of students.

i am just done she gives so much homework that i have a breakdown every night

i have been in this class for a week i think i am dying

Mrs. Montgomery is an excellent teacher. Do not be afraid to take the class because you'll learn so much more than math. She's really nice and will help you at any time (tutorial, lunch, after school, etc...). I loved the class and it was really enjoyable. Don't be afraid of her because she's a human being with her own struggles (knee surgery, 4 hour sleep times, high stress, etc..). Engage in the class and don't slack off!

Mrs. Montgomery is very understanding and it's clear she cares about her students. She's always smiling and her class is very captivating. She's a very intelligent and respectable teacher. The material in her class can get difficult at times but as long as you pay attention and do your work, you will be fine. She really tries to help her students.

the stuff she teaches prepares you for the textbook homework. but her tests are TEN TIMES harder than the homework and they can really screw your grade big time. she's a good teacher but it's her extremely difficult tests that i dislike.

Before you take this class, there are many things to consider. Do you absolutely enjoy math? Are you willing to risk getting anything thats not an A? Do you care about what you learn in math? If you answered yes, then this class is definately for you. Otherwise don't even consider taking her PCH or BC. Students who have gotten A's on their previous math classes regularly flunk her tests, even after STUDYING! As for her knowledge, she basically expects you to be as good as her to get an A or B.

A few things I don't like about her class--she preaches the importance of homework yet during class, doesnt go over problems very thoroughly. Puts them up on a doc camera, narrates the problem & moves on. Sometimes when students ask a lot of HW questions she’ll become visibly annoyed. She lectures to the class about decisions and karma, as if we are all susceptible to suddenly turning evil. Lots of times she will “bribe” students with promises of good rec letters. OK teacher. A little eccentric.

If math is not your strongest subject, drop the class. Now. While you still can. I'm serious, tons of people do every year. Its okay. Now, this class is going to be difficult. Its going to be ridiculously difficult, and you are going to get Cs on more than one test. But, if you're good at math, then you're likely to get a B+ or so, but the only way to get an A in this class is to study. Last year, I didn't study, passed easy. But not this year. Expect a lot of work, but also some great teaching.

Made my friend transfer schools and want to kill herself... She has intensive therapy now because of that hag...

A lot of you guys have probably heard many rumors abut this teacher. I will try to clear up the confusion. First of all, her tests are EXTREMELY difficult. If you guys think that getting an A in a math class is such a big deal, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. It is extremely difficult to even get a B in the class (achieved trough constant studying). The test is harder than the the Homework problems. Some test questions can be tedious and almost unsolvable. However, you will certainly improve your math.

One of the best classes I've ever had. If you cruised your previous math classes and expected this one to be easy, you may have learned much more from her than just calculus, and it would be something just as important : how it feels to feel stupid.

Incredibly strict, and a very challenging course. It will push your limits. If you got a 5 on the AP AB exam, you still probably aren't prepared for her BC course yet. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE. 2 hours studying isn't gonna cut it. do practice AP exams. TO ALL CONSIDERING TAKING HER BC COURSE Her BC Chapter tests are AP style free response tests, but NO TEST is curved except for the final. To give some perspective, getting a 65% on the actual BC exam is a 5. You better work hard or else fail.

she has a way with words

me+her=bangout

you can do the math

Extremely difficult and can go overboard. However she teaches enough material for even the most lax students to learn a considerable amount of math.

Many students believe they can scrape by with the grades they achieved in previous math courses without effort; this is their downfall. Montgomery is willing to help you succeed--but only if you're also willing to put in proper effort on your own.

Many claim that Ms. Montgomery's difficult exams are for preparing us for college. This would be true if she actually taught us in-depth with all the concepts. In class we learn the basics and for homework and on exams we are expected to know the most difficult problems. In order to survive this class, I had to study and learn mostly on my own. Ms. Montgomery was more of someone who tested us than taught us.

Ms. Montgomery is an excellent teacher; her dedication to helping the students is unmatched within Leland. She spends most (if not all) of her spare time helping students (lunch and afterschool everyday (except Tuesdays afterschool)). Her tests are hard compared to other math teachers in the district, but they are actually standard (normal!) for other countries. Anyways, study for her tests and you will be fine AND TRY TALKING TO HER!!! SHE'S RIDICULOUSLY NICE!! ....not during class though..

Ms. Montgomery genuinely cares about her students, but her class is overly difficult. Her tests and quizzes are nightmares. Students who had gotten A's in all their other math classes regularly get F's and D's on her tests. The averages are always C's and D's, or maybe B-'s. This is the hardest class I've ever had, and I know I'm not the only one because students would CRY after her tests. She is a good person, but extremely misguided. You'll learn that sometimes your best just isn't enough.PCH.

It's a shame all these reviews are so bad; I'm pretty sure the only reason people are rating her low is because they weren't satisfied with the grade they got in the class. Although her class may be difficult, she is extremely dedicated to her job and willing to give help during lunch and after school, almost every day, as long as she doesn't have a meeting. Sometimes the lessons are unclear but like I said, you can always get help. She's strict in class, but outside of class she's really nice.

The moment I walked into her room, I knew math for that year would not be pleasant for me. She was unenthusiastic to welcome us and simply told us to find our seats. This is the exact same attitude in which she has for the whole year. Her tests and quizzes are not easy, you do have to work for them but the notes she gives do not help you achieve the A you want as the examples are so much easier and simpler on the notes compared to what is actually on her tests.

Mrs. Montgomery is not an easy teacher (hard tests!), but she is eeexxxtttrrrreeeemmmmeeellllyyyy helpful. She's in her room almost every single day after school and during lunch to help students. She's seems really intimidating, but she really wants the best for her students

Montgomery's class is quite difficult! However, she is a very dedicated teacher and she's extremely nice outside of class :)

She isnt a bad teacher but so is really hard. She takes all her AP Calculus AB notes from Mrs. Sitkewich though and she almost never finish writing down the notes for us. A lot of the homework arent e

she's a great teacher. She puts a lot of effort into teaching, and actually teaches the subject (unlike, say, mr. zarghami or someone like that)

Definitely the best math teacher at Leland. She really cares about her students, but a lot of people tend to dislike her, because she actually teaches and expects her students to try. She's awesome!

Horrible teacher. She is extremely difficult and her notes sometimes do not even help on some problems. She tells students to come in at lunch if you need help but a lot of times the whole class needs

if you're looking for a condescending teacher that grades really hard at makes you feel like an idiot when you get a question wrong then shes the teacher for you

She teaches, but she expects you to come in at lunch or after school for help if you need it. If you tell your students to come in for help, then you obviously aren't teaching correctly.

She's amazing! You just have to pay attention and be diligent about all your work. She tries really hard to be fair and teach you as best as she possibly can.

in her class, you have to get over prepared. its not a bad thing, its just not everyone is a genius and its the genius that gets the A. and it requires alot of time, which we don't have much of.

People are actually afraid to ask questions in her class because if it was something you MIGHT have covered, she'll make you feel dumb for asking the question. Transfer out if you get her!

Don't get me wrong. Ms. Montgomery is a great teacher. Unfortunately for her students, her tests and quizzes are BEYOND hard. By the end of the year, no one has A's, save the geniuses.

her class gets really boring. and she's really strict about grading hw. but she actually teaches you

worst teacher i've EVER had. she is SO UPTIGHT, has the hardest tests/quizzes ever, is SOOO boring, and gives way too much homework. TRANSFER OUT IF U GET HER! theres only max 5 people who get a's.

WORST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. I HATE HER. DOESN'T CARE ABOUT HER STUDENTS AND HAS THE MOST BORING MATH CLASS I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED.

If you get her for Pre-Calc, transfer out by making something up...trust me you DO NOT want her. Last year she had like 5 As in both semesters.

very passionate about her job, will help you whenever you ask. nice sweet woman but i wish she would make her classes alittle more enjoyable-her class is boring because its the same routine EVERYDAY!!!! typical math class

wierd polocies. sorta paranoid. dosen't give class time for homework. gives too many notes, good teacher tho... lots of extra credit. for alg 1, i'd choose her over li and labababa

She is odd, but in her case its a good odd. Very weird policies

ms montgomery is awesome. she's a good teacher and helps you when you need it. her tests are easy if you study.

she gives out alot of homework on breaks to help YOU the students out so that you guys dont forget your material. be thankful for that. her teachin style is fine

ms montgomery is an okay teacher, she give homework everysingle night and TONS of homeowrk over breaks. shes an hard grader. but her teaching style needs to be updated more.

ms montgomery is the best! i cant believe ppl fail her class.. she gives hecka extra points!

her class is awesome i like how she makes sure we understand what were learning she takes it slow which is goood! shes a awesome teacher and shes always there for help @ lunch

shes a really great teaher. she is really devoted to her job unlike some of the other math teachers. she well go out of her way to help you out and to see you do good in her class!

ms. montgomery is a really great teacher! i dunno what all you other people are talking about. im sorry but her class isnt boring @ all, i learned alot she helps out alot too! <3

her class is SOO boring. she teaches so slow. i fall asleep almost every class. she goes over like every single homework problem in detail, and it takes forever.

shes so mean she like didnt like half of her students

she's really hard but you actually do learn something from her. She just scare a lot of people by just staring.

i guess she's a good teacher BUT she gives dirty looks to people, scary looks

SHE NEEDS TO RELAX! why is she so uptight all the time??? I like math, personally, but she has driven me to hate it!!!!!!

i like montgomery...but i like math. i always get good teachers. she doesn't like us reading while she's talking, but i can deal with that.

She's a good teacher who gives ALOT of extra credit and I don't think you can get much of a bad grade in her class if you do your work... but she needs to be a little more interesting cuz that class is BORING
