EXTREMELY uneducated teacher. She leaves unexpectedly, just walking out of the room and has an uncontrollable temper. She trips almost every day in her heels, and strikes your ears with her piercing voice. I didn't know that they just let ANYONE become a teacher. The kids in our class knew more than her... Exams were unexpected, homework was never checked, and grading was incredibly difficult. 0/10 RATING... never recommended to any schools
She knows exactly what she's doing. Look at the low reviews you see those are people complaining about low grades and her not going into depth. Had her for multiple levels. Her AP students think she's amazing while her regular students have mixed feelings. That says something. She teaches at a higher level...college level and you have to do a lot of work on your own. That's how you learn. In college now and glad I had her. She's very clear with having a syllabus for an entire year...just study
Mrs. Elwood is a great lady and super fun to be around. This is a very sociable class, so it is refreshing. I genuinely look forward to coming to her class each day. She is very easy-going until the students begin to slip up too frequently. Make sure you complete all of your work and study a lot. Unfortunately, she does not teach the subjects with much depth. You will have to spend a lot of time learning at home.
Bottom line-she teaches like a college professor and prepares you. She knows exactly what you learned with your previous class and she expects you to know that. She gives you a syllabus for the entire freaking year. Her expectations are clear. No one reminds you to hand in homework in college. She is an expert at Spanish grammar. Boo hoo...Her tests are hard and she gives multiple quizes a week. Get over it and study. If you're going to complain, then rethink going to college.
She never taught a thing, but always expected us to do well on the tests and talked down to us when we didn't. She was always late to class, if she showed up at all, but always yelled at us when we were late saying that we "wouldn't be able to hold jobs". All we did in class was clean tables for her, run errands for her, and listen to her talk about her husband from Nicaragua, son in UCLA, and daughter's love life. I got my UCR scholarship rescinded because she gave me a D in her class.
Great Teacher! Wish she taught all the way up! Always available for tutoring. She's there every single time of the day.
A very boring class, not challenging at all, the only thing that i learned is that she married some one from Nicaragua and that her son goes to UCLA. Overall was a waste of time.
Follow the syllabus and pay attention in class and you'll be fine. The people that complain are the one's with C's or worse. Her class is not super hard and she's teaching how a college class is taught.
She is awesome! I love her. Definitely one of my favorite teachers. Even though you don't really learn much and do stuff for her it's a great class. In college we'll be on our on doing stuff all by ourselves... so i guess she preparing us for that!
She only focuses on her other duties at school and she even makes her students to stuff for her. There were days that all we did that day in class was put letters in envelopes for her.
Great Teacher! Learned how to be a college student. Study materials should never be just handed to you! I will be a Soanish major because of her.
Without a doubt, more popular than Shellman. However, she just doesn't know how to teach. Tests are difficult because she hardly goes over the material beforehand. If you like corny stories, she's your kind of teacher; however, if you want to learn, good luck with her.
Average. Fun class and an easy A because she was always determined to beat Nicholson's kids. Great personality. Only problem: CANNOT TEACH!!!
Gotta love Mrs. E. She is just the best. She is totally carefree and she just an awesome teacher. Man she is definitely one of my favorites
Have totally enjoyed her class.Very unique, really cares about the students. And her weird little memorization tools have actually stuck. She doesn't try and get tricky, so just know your stuff!
Awesome, Fun, Real, Realistic, and Helpful! Enjoy going to her class.
Great teacher!! I have learned alot from her. Yes you do have to work hard, but that's life. She's prepping us for the real world. Just do the work! I do!
Fun teacher, thats for sure. But I hardly learned anything in that class(took Spanish 3 honors). Only prob: she still tests as if you learn everything.
She is a nice person but i dont think i learned as much as I should have and I was in Spanish 1!
Had her for Spanish 3 and AP. She's a very social teacher and her class is pretty fun. Easy A, but you need to put in more time on your own to pass AP test.
really bad teacher. she concentrates on her other duties for the school like wasc and then doesnt teach during class. basically memorize everything to do well
had her for spanish 3 and...no speako spanish-o. enough said.
GREAT TEACHER TO HAVE!! Helpful if questions are asked, as they SHOULD BE.
