Albeit she is a nice person, Ms. Neilson does not teach clearly at all. She doesn't actually lecture but rather just gives packets of Biozone to do in class. Even the few projects and chances we got to apply the course material were silly and shallow; none of the activities actually helped us learn.. if you want to succeed in this class, you will have to do a lot of self-studying... (and expect unnecessary amounts of unhelpful and redundant work, plus 15-20 mistakes (on her behalf) EVERY test.)
The woman has no idea what she's doing. She is disorganized to a point where she losesat least oneassignment a day for every period.Andtalking about tests in her class pisses me off. Aftertaking a test, expect to get it back 123894876 years after you've taken it.Beprepared to self grade every single answer even thenbecause there's a 232530% chance that she gradedthem with the wrong answer key. Her tests are pretty hard and the Q's are sovaguethat you can bargain w/her and get the grade you want.
Neilson is an unorganized, confused, and difficult teacher. She usually just glances over to see if your work is neat and stamps you. On the other hand, you can make your work too messy to read and she won't bother reading it and will still give you 100%. Her exams are extremely hard, the class avg for final was c- or d+ and she curved it 6%. Barely any students have an A despite trying very hard. She tells each of her periods conflicting info, 1st period didnt even know there was a test nxt week
Horrible teacher, class average was a D on final and she only curved 5 points/5%. She put extra credit in a nonexistent category which many people needed
Where to begin.. okay well she is a very sweet lady, who shows a lot of sass at times when students ask questions. She is never really clear when teaching students, for example for our project which is due tomorrow (tuesday) and assigned friday she literally made the rubric after 1st period, so all the 1st period kids are left completely confused and a lot had to redo their work. She isn't very clear on what will be on the test, and when we do take notes, halfway she tells us never mind..
She says something then corrects herself. The only good thing is that she knows biology, not really how to explain it.
Ms. Neilson is (in)famous for losing students' work and for being disorganized, and I can testify that this is true. It almost always seems like she doesn't have a lesson planned, and she definitely does not have control over the class. Tests are moderately easy and she grades most homework on overall effort (completion).
Honestly feel bad for her. She really needs to gain control of not only her class but her life. She needs to be stop being so lazy grading work that students put EFFORT in. She arrived at school at 8:50 once last year, yells at anyone else whos tardy
A bit too easy on the students. Class was too loud and did not change.
She cannot control the class. When you turn in late, you only receive half credits. Too much lab, activities, and assignment for a CP class. Test is so hard
Nice person, very unorganized, tries hard. Getting better about organization and teaching. Does not control class well. Isn't very knowledgeable.
Half the time, she has no idea what she's talking about. Even though she does assign homework, those who don't turn it in on time usually get full credit if they make a big enough fuss about it.
A very nice person, but does not control the class well.
She would actually be a good teacher if she could control her classes. Very disorganized
Doesn't use iParent, poor computer communication. Nice lady tho. Always let admin know when she doesn't respond to emails.
Senile, old, and unaware of her surroundings. We charge our electronics and play them in class without her ever noticing, and we do it quite publicly. She forgets where she puts her papers very often.
unorganized and cant get control of class. very goodhearted but cant teach well. can have a sense of humor. she thinks shes a dictator!!haha
I really liked her, but she's kinda a ditz and plays favorites. I was one of her favorites, so maybe that's why she liked me ;/
I felt so bad for Ms. Neilson, everyone gave her a hard time. She really tried as a teacher, but just didn't do very well.
her class is fun to just mess around in, she cant teach and problaby shoudnt be a teacher, but she is a sweet lady.
if she thinks u r smart, then she won't pay any attention to ur work and will give u A's on everything. u could just slack off the rest of the year
gets lost easily on other subjects. loses control of class, loses homework assignments.
she can't teach for anything but she dances on the lab tables-
She didnt even finish all the stuff we had to learn (and what little we did do wasnt very thorough) I couldnt take the SAT II for Bio because I didnt learn some
shes so nice and she tries so hard but teaching is just not her thing.
She tries hard and is incredibly easy unless you're stupid. She just isn't able to control the class.
can't control the class, what she says makes no sense, doesnt remember what she did or didnt tell the class
had her 2 years ago. great teacher. she gave me an A. If you do all the hw she gives u u get an automatic A.
This has to tbe the worst teacher in the school, she doesn't know what she's talking about and she can't control the class. Useless.
Horrible teacher. Cannot control students, no one pays attention. I learned nothing. Taking AP bio now, don't remember jack. She's nice tho!
Bad teaching skill, cant control students, gives too much HW, hard tests... But... kind of a nice person!
tries her best at teaching but can't control her students
