He really loves his job and it is obvious that he still loves teaching.
Probably the best teacher I have ever had :) I was so fortunate to be in his class, he really cares about his job and his students and is amazing at explaining concepts. I went in after school for help many times and he was always very easy to talk to and never made me feel like I was asking a stupid question (unlike many other profs I've had). I hope anybody in his class is able to appreciate how lucky they are to experience such a wonderful teacher.
Mr. Strawderman was very good at teaching. He made it very clear what we should know from different units and has many interactive activities. I can still remember things he taught in class years later. Every time i see a calculator i hear him saying, "beep boop bop boop bop boop beep." in my head. I had fun in that class.
He makes funny noises. Strawderman also explains things way too fast. If he would just slow down, it would be much easier to understand what he's going on about.
I can't. He's awful. And I hate him. He doesn't care about students and is gross.
For most of Advanced Physics I was intimidated by Mr. Strawderman, but his engaging teaching and knowledge got me to stick around for AP Physics. In AP Physics Mr. Strawderman is wonderful with is classes. He's funny, engaging, and he cares about his students. Mr. Strawderman is constantly trying to advance his career and is now an AP reader, teaches an class on how to teach AP classes, and is constantly reading about physics. Mr. Strawderman is one of the smartest and sweetest teachers at FS.
Excellent teacher. In fact, during my time at Free State High School, I never encountered a teacher more knowledgeable about his field (physics) or about effectively communicating ideas to students. Very intelligent, very good communicator, very caring about his students. The one knock on Mr. Strawderman is his periodic grumpiness, but he will never refuse to make an effort to help a student in need. In fact, he often goes the extra mile (e.g. review sessions) without students asking.
A little bit of an untraditional teaching style- we made our own "textbooks" through class notes and demonstrations- but I really learned a lot and had an interest in the class. Alot of group work too
Nice guy, efficient and effective Scholars Bowl coach. Good if you actually wish to learn, though less entertaining than some.
Not as ingaging as other teachers at FS, but he mostly knows what he is talking about.
i like him... you learn the stuff well... on the other hand he can be really moody... fun outside of class...
not the nicest guy, kinda moody, but you learn everything. I have never left a class really confused but I've never left really excited. THis class is for those who want to learn
this class is for you if you hate having fun. he teaches physics, but he makes sure that there are no explosions or good labs.
he was alright as a person but pretty moody a good majority of the time. eh, but he did alright as a physics teacher.
He can get pretty pissy. But other times he can rock out. Just depends on the day.
Really knows his stuff; forces me to learn the material.
doesn't make thing's that clear, just expects you to know the material and it's easy to fall asleep in his class. he just makes it really hard to learn
He's a teacher who knows what he's talking about and is very intelligent. He's a fun guy and I am so glad I had the opportunity to have him for a teacher.
Can be moody. Can also be funny and really relate to students. Labs are not as good as Olson though. Probably learn the material better due to his methods.
