I had Manago for Physiology as a senior and I can easily say that the only way I did well in that class was by teaching myself the material from the book before the tests. She is extremely vague about everything and won't tell you what your'e being tested on unless you go up to her and ask her to point out exactly what images and sections are on the test. Her labs and tests would be difficult if you weren't passionate about the material and didn't study hard for them.
Ms. Manago's class is not as hard as everyone is describing. While her lectures are pretty dull and boring, if you go home and study the course material from the book pages she assigns and do all the homework assignments, you will have no trouble getting an A in the class. She curves her labs and tests so you have room to mess up and still get A's and B's. The tests are easier than you would expect. The only ones who have C's or D's are those who are on their phones everyday with earbuds in.
Ms. Manago basically just tells everyone that a test is the next day and nobody even knows what it's about. She is the worst teacher and I have learned nothing this year. I am not a bad student, but Ms. Manago has made me get a bad grade in her class. She only teaches the material when we are going over the TEST THAT WE JUST TOOK! Thanks a lot! Aside from teaching, she only puts homework assignments into PowerSchool if they haven't been completed. So you can only get penalized, and not rewarded.
She knows what she's doing and even with her monotonous voice, her lectures are easy to follow. Remember to carefully read everything, and make sure to triple-check everything. It's easy to screw up on those tests. Other than that, she is very nice and easy to talk to. If you kiss up to her enough, she'll bump you up a letter grade.
If you are really passionate in biology, or even physio, you'll love her and her class. But, if you're an average student, switch out.
If you get her, SWITCH OUT. She is probably the hardest teacher I have ever had. Her exams are very difficult.
If you're hoping for a clear-cut year that will make you feel like you learned a lot, switch out of this class. Ms. M is clearly an intelligent lady, but as some teachers are, she is often confusing and can't quite seem human. She doesn't like the book much, seems like she prepares for lectures the day of, speaks slowly and monotone, and has confusing test content. Hardly energetic and boring. I'm a student that had never had anything below an A in a science class, until I had Manago. SWITCH OUT
Mrs. M is a smart women, however she doesn't always get kids. She can be incredibly vague at times, and is known to not input grades until the last week of the semester. She clearly knows her stuff, and if you sit in the front and pay attention you'll learn a lot. But it's a tough class, and the tests are not easy, even if you study. She can be a blessing or a curse depending how you play your cards...
Mrs. Manago is a really good teacher and her class is easy, but only if you're willing to actually try. She gets a bad rap from parents of kids who think the class is "too hard". She's a great person and connects well with most students too.
She works really hard and if you do your work, the class is easy. I fully recommend Ms. Manago if you ACTUALLY want to learn and not just slack off.
I went into Manago fearing for my life and my gpa in 9th bio. At first, she was cold, picky, and intense. As the year progressed, she became so chill and nice! She's actually a cool person who cares a lot about her students. Yes, her class is difficult. I did well because I payed attention in class and took notes. Don't sweat too much about the homework as the year goes on. When she knows your a good student who cares about learning, she'll love you and give you good grades. Also, sit in front!
Boring!!! Never actually teaches anything!!! All she does for her notes is show us pictures of random stuff. She spends half of the class organizing papers as you just sit there. Her tests have giant short answer sections with no word banks usually. Never inputs grades, I didn't even know my grade until a few days after they were SUPPOSE to be imputed!! There's just so many things she does wrong as teacher and this is coming from a student who's partent is a teacher a realizes how bad she is.
I had Manago for freshman bio and at the beginning of the year she seemed cruel, cold, impossible, and overall a horrible teacher. As the year went on, I realized that she actually teaches incredibly well and does care about the success of her students. She was my favorite teacher or my freshman year and the most difficult. I did get an A in her class, but I was among maybe 6 people in my period that did (32 ppl in class). I do like her now and always look forward to her insightful lessons.
Although i find her class a challenge, she's a fantastic teacher. she really puts aside the time to teach the material to those who choose to pay attn. if you don't pay attn this will be very hard. she's very clear on what she expects every student to know. heads up, a lot of the info you need to know is told to you verbally and not written down. If you pay attention, you'll do great. If you are on a device & don't pay attn, it'll be hard. Especially since everything builds upon prior chapters.
Had her over summer for health. The first 30 minutes of every class were spent in silence as she stood up at the front rummaging through fuckall while we sat bored out of our minds. She has a microphone around her neck because she speaks so quietly and I STILL COULDN'T HEAR HER. Wasn't willing to cooperate or assist with anything in any way. She managed to make the easiest class in the whole school difficult because she tested us on stuff that I physically could not hear. She is very cold.
Ms. Manago is a bad teacher. Although she becomes more lenient throughout the year, she is still extremely boring. She keeps preaching about how much we loves labs and we have only done 2 labs and we're almost halfway through the second semester. When she is proven wrong, she still refuses to change her opinion. In the beginning of class we just sit around while she sits at her desk for 15 mins and wait another 10 for her to pass out papers Hands down one of the worst teachers I've ever had
Mrs. Manago is literally one of the funniest, fairest, most reasonable, and helpful teachers at the school. A lot of kids don't like her because they don't pay attention or do their work, so of course it's reasonable that the teacher won't give you lee-way or be nice to you. Overall nice lady and she always helped me find things and answered all my questions. Only complaint is 1. she never updates power school and 2. she doesn't tell you the homework and you have to check the board yourself
I had her for a semester of health during the summer, and I literally played video games on my 3DS ALL DAY. no joke. I got an A in the class without listening to a single lecture in her awfully monotonous voice.
Has the most monotonous voice I have ever heard. Terrible teacher, so boring. I have her zero period, i constantly have to pinch myself to fall asleep, and even then i sometimes doze off. I sit right next to the fan as well, so i'm freezing also. Ive had her for a short while, but becoming my least favorite teacher real quick. Does not teach at all.
Ms. Manago is the worst teacher I've ever had. She sits around on her computer for the majority of class and leaves the end for lectures. Her grading system is harsh and her tests are ridiculous. Switch out.
She might be the worst teacher I have ever had.She never holds any of our attention for more then 2 minutes, teaches nothing, and gives impossible tests. She is inconsistent with grading and the level of difficulty with her tests, you never know what to study or whats coming. If your schedule says you have her, and I mean it, switch out asap. Literally, sprint to the office and cry for them to change it. YOU WILL NOT PASS IF YOU HAVE HER!!! lOVE YOURSELF AND SWITCH!!!!!
Had her for health over the summer.she's extremely knowledgable, but her 1-2 hour slideshows r deathly boring the only way I didnt fall asleep is bc her classroom is sO cold. the tests r pretty detailed so if youre not into those awful slideshows look over the book a bit so you dont get a 0%. If youre super nice to her shes kind&will give you lots more leeway trust me I totally kissed up to her for the first week and the rest of the session I just texted all the time and got away with everything
she is the worst teacher I have ever had. switch out ASAP!!! she doesn't teach a single thing...
On our class syllabus it said homework would be worth 10% of our grade; however, she decided that entering the hundreds of assignments we all spent hours working on every night would be "too complicated" and she opted out. Even though everyone is already failing her tests she decided that this semester there would be more focus on test and quiz grades. She doesn't teach, she puts material not covered on tests, and she is the most monotone/least helpful teacher I have ever had. SWITCH OUT ASAP.
Doesn't teach!!!! Sits on her computer all day then lectures us for 10 min. If u have her... RUN
doesn't make clear what you are expected to know and understand. take a lot of notes and always be cheerful to even try to pass that class
by far the worst bio teacher on campus. if you are in her class expect to fail and have to retake it. She's a nice person but a terrible teacher who doesnt teach and doesnt help you at all. if you get her save yourself the F and switch out
If you get her, change out.
Most students tend not to like Manago's bio and physio classes because theyre immature and actually have to do work. Dont be scared though, Manago is by far one of the best science teachers on Costas campus for she is very knowledgeable and actually cares about teaching. Her lectures are always straight forward and never confusing. Her tests are fair, everything on her tests has been discussed in class. Not only is she a excellent teacher, but she is a good friend and an even better wingman.
Ms. Manago is extremely knowledgeable in every aspect of Biology and is always willing to help any student after class. She is generous with her time and ensures that every student who WANTS to study, receives a fair grade by offering in depth aid. Aside from her teaching skills, she is also a wonderful adult to go to for help and has a genuine connection with the kids willing to get to know her personally. She is by far my favorite teacher.
Nice person but an awful communicator of the material and what is expected to be on the test. Had to curve the entire class 5% because not one single person had an A... this is not an AP class and the
She has like a traditional college lecture teaching that I like. The homework is optional. i don't do it tho i listen in class and ace the tests just off of that.
She ALWAYS takes forever to get to class she walks as slow as a snail. Accuses people of stealing things...aka biology books and other things. SHe cant even prononce Library
i am sorry, but you have got to take control of your class. that little metal thing doesn't work and please speack up!
i dont think the tests even count. she only gives you a good grade if she likes u. worst teacher ive ever had.
great person BUT needs to control the class and students, and give honest grades
makes up grades...last year she was late for finals by 20 min then she messed up copies and we had to wait and only had a little over an hour for the final....
ms mamango is a nice person but it seems like she makes up grades for people and doesnt try to help u... better "friend" than teacher!
shes kinda GONE!have an easy sub now and its great! i'm learning just as much as i would when she was here just there aren't any more lectures and wasting time.
she is very fair, especially considering her position. i think she should be the principal, and not that awful mccormack
Basically all you have to do is be nice and cool and you'll get a good grade. I failed most of my tests last year, but since she liked me, she gave me an A.
She is a nice person. She is very unclear, somewhat knowledgeable in Biology but doesn,t really know much. If you don't want a D on a test, study...study hard..
Easy if you DO the reading, and actually take good notes on it (like she tells you) Too quiet, boring, only helps if you ASK.
what are you people talking about... Just because YOU fail her class or you dont put in effort doesn't make here a bad teacher at all.
I don't know what you people are talking about she is the kewlest teacher. People need to stop disrespecting her and shaddup lol. I got A D and I like her.
just be glad you arent in 2ed period with me because it is the worst class she has and you wont learn a thing even if you want to
I don't know why so many people hate her, but she's a very great teacher. If you are quite and listen to her teach, you and learn quite a lot. She's the best!
horrible teacher! never tells me what grade i have and we do NOTHING in class. o well its an ok class to get all my homework done in!
Very helpful if you have a question. Willing to see you after class. BUT, if Labs are ungraded how do you know what to ask? See Cote and get organized.PLZ
TERRIBLE teacher, i hate her, have to retake a life science now, never graded any work, never let us know our grades, and estimated our semester grades.
i have a lot of respect for her. when she caught me cheating, i just took the referral and left, i didn't argue or anything. i'm only like that to people i respect
QUIET!!!! You do nothing for the first 20 minutes of every class and then she says QUIEEEEET!!!! for about 5 minutes.
I had fun in the class, not due to her teaching. She doesn't grade anything, which can benefit or hurt you.
