the class is really easy, however she doesnt make it easy to learn. shes not exciting and isnt very fun.
Algebra 2 -- She talks really fast and expects you to catch everything, so you may have to go to 8th period tutoring. Mean but fair. If you do all your work and stay focused you should do fine.
Seems unapproachable at first, but once you get to know her, she's pretty nice. Teaches from the textbook like everyone else. Tests are easy. Willing to help if you are nice and polite. Likes rules
never NEVER be late to her class. I was late once...ONCE. she gave me a really hard time
Has an extraordinarily sharp personality, and is extremely nitpicky. If you do your homework though, you'll be ok, though you might have to learn some concepts on your own.
Tends to have mood swings, and doesn't explain things well. But generally easy class.
HORRIBLE. Thinks students are like kids, tries occasionally to say something funny which turns out horribly like a textbook. Not challenging at ALL. Most dull/boring teacher ever. Makes stereotypes.
Fair teacher, just don't get on her bad side. Do your work, be on time, and just don't be afraid to ask when you don't understand.
Very dull and unclear. Seems to assume that everyone is smart and knows what's going on. Doesn't slow down at all. Not approachable.
It's hard to be fair and truthful about her. She made me hate math, but she generally stuck by her rules. She was fair, but her lectures didn't normally make sense.
Definitely a stickler for the rules. Lectures can get boring, and I disliked using the notetaking guide. However, she is fair. If you do the work, follow her rules, and be respectful you should fine.
i dont understand what she's talking about. but maybe it's just me. i hate the notetaking guide tho...
She's great help. Yeah, she won't cuddle you, but if you ask for help she'll give it. Again if you just get to class on time and turn in hw on time everything's great.
Don't have her hate you. This is avoided by not talking nonstop throughout her class, not eating in her class, and not doing terribly in her class. Her classes were boring to me, but she's fair. Do the extra credit and do the homework. Save homework passes for the extra credit.
The nicer half of Mont./Parn. I think that she probably does favor those who are good at math, but if you don't disrespect her openly, you should be fine. The class itself was pretty pointless for me, and I can't really say much about her teaching ability, becuase I picked it up pretty easily. But don't listen to what others said about her voice: it's not that bad. I'd say that she's a pretty good teacher, just don't cross her.
Ms. Montgomery is not exactly warm and fuzzy but she's pretty fair. She doesn't have favorites--but there are some people she won't tolerate. She gives the impression of disliking everyone, but if you're respectful, ask good questions, do your work, and show up on time, you're in good shape. She's one of the better math teachers in terms of understanding the concept. She has really fun stamps! She's also a really cool TA teacher, although she gets opinonated during ethics lessons.
Comparing Precalc to AlgII (I had her both years,)Alg was definitely better. I don't mind either and I love Mrs. Montgomery, but my biggest precalc complaint is the pacesetter - it's not the way they teach using the pacesetter, it's the fact that the pacesetter is the most inefficient way EVER of teaching math and no other precalc class uses it. Also, I really don't see the point of doing lab reports for math? When it comes down to pure math though, Mrs. Montgomery is definitely my fav ever.
i think montgomery is a really sweet person.. maybe not a good teacher.. but still.. and her class is mad easy so you cant complain.. her classes aren't even ap.. so its okay if you dont learn much
Her classes will give you a run for the money. Do ALL the work (no DUH), study hard, and you will succeed in this class.
Her voice isn't THATN bad, come on! Nice enough, just doesn't know enough math. Serveral times, I've gone to teachers for 8th period math halp, and 1 out of 3 times, they'll say "She taught you do this how!?!?!"
Just be mature... be respectful of her, and she'll do the same to you. I'm by no means one of those "math aces" on the team who gets straight As. I'm barely maintaining a B+ in her class. I didn't like her at first, but I do now. She's a good
most annoying teacher/voice ever... easy i guess but not if ur desperately trying to avoid listening to the nasal voice... if i were u i would switch
she skims over material way to fast...gives loads of extra credit, but that doesnt help if you cant pass the tests...
Had her for two years, made me hate math - I used to love it. Not helpful at all and treats you like a little kid.
i hate to say it, but that VOICE... you get used to it after a while tho. but make friends with your book, youll use it a lot.
very cold. anyone who says that they love her is clearly a math-team-type who always gets As. Im convinced that she doesnt actually like anyone.
Decided she didn't like me, was mean for the rest of the year, lost my compbook 3x. Failed out of her precalc, took it at NOVA, learned lots more, and got an A.
i dunno y every1 is saying she's mean. so far this year she hasn't yelled or anything. maybe change in personality this year but i think her class is ez and fu
She makes things incredibly clear and won't hesitate to help you if you ask for it. Go to math team, she runs it and she's great :D
She's a good teacher and she's nice as long as you dont sit around insulting her in her class, like many people do. That's to be expected!
I LOVE Mrs. Montgomery--have her for alg2trig this year. Just make sure you know your material, and don't ever hesitate to ask for help. She's awesome!!!
I love Mrs. Montgomery. if you just pay attention in class, and do all the work NICELY, you should be fine- and she'll like you in return
Scary, unhelpful, arrogant woman. If you get her, run. I've never yet met a TJ student who liked her class.
Boring, redundant teacher, who still managed to teach nothing to the least of the class.
She's actually nice and not as mean as people seem to think. one-on-one she's good, but if you ask her a question in class, she might totally misinterpret it
i had her last year and started out liking her. but the second she realized math wasn't my forte she started hating me!! she made me hate math + feel bad.
I'm having so much fun making fun of her in math-that's all we ever do at my table! scratch that, im not having fun in her clsss at all. She hates us.
Not as bad as I expected. Haven't gotten to know her too well yet, since it's only the first week of school, but she seems nice enough. Explains things clearly.
I didn't like the class at all. Very, very, cold attitude...
Shes really great 1 on 1 - just give her a chance and ignore the annoying voice
so mean. do whatever you can to switch out of her class. run.
Great teacher if you get on her good side ... get her to check your hw in double classes
Bottom line: I don't like her. She scares me and is extremely cold, although she's wonderful to math aces. Her attitude toward me literally made me cry.
she can be nice, except soooo hard! but you learn a ton!
i LOVE her. i'm SOOO jealous of those in her precalc class-had her last year for alg2/trig. eagen/berry are mush!! u learn well w/ her
Not bad, knows what she's doing, but the class didn't work well for me.
Not a bad teacher, but a bit too caustic... actually knows math,
precalc w/her is a really hard class. She's only nice to certain ppl
Only math teacher who really grades homework, but a good teacher and nice!
It's tough yes, but an amazing teacher. Easy to get along with if you work.
Very organized... almost compulsively so. Very thorough.
a very thorough teacher; you know exactly what to expect and learn a lot!
she taught me more about math than any other math teacher
She is the best math teacher i ever had, also very demanding
