When I had her in senior English in 1984, Ms. Yankow was a laugh riot in class and brimming with both knowledge and enthusiasm. I would have gone on to study literature regardless, but having her in senior year made me aware that literary pursuits did not need to be depressing, that Chaucer was a laugh riot and that it did not matter if you departed from the syllabus as long as you were heading in the right direction. One of my all-time fave teachers.
Hard class to focus in... Is boring and monotonous and goes at a snails pace. She is very unorganized, so don't expect to get anything back quickly. Tests are impossible.
Yankow kicked me outta clas cuz i didnt have book, i skipped the next day. She hates you one day, and loves you the next, i wish you could HEAR her, clas so boring i fall asleep
She's a really tough teacher. Wish she taught us a little differently.
Worst teacher I've ever had. Hands out essay grades completely arbitrarily. Should be fired, or at least moved to regular Englihs.
Out of her mind. Lambasts us for "violating scholarship" while she mumbles about Beowulf without teaching anything. Take fake notes to avoid her wrath
good teacher with a relatively hard curriculum. Be careful when she is mad, because she might tear your finger with the ring off!
not bad for an english teacher, try not to get kicked out of her "castle"
Watch out for pop-quizzes and pop-tests. Can be really mean when having a bad day. Weird mood swings... If she likes you, it can move your grade up a letter.
Shes pretty tough, but the class is incredibly useful and shes very helpful with coursework.
