He's racist and bias. He tries to be funny but is very offensive. He always brags about his masters degree from Northwestern, which get old real fast. And he teaches us NOTHING! Literally NOTHING. He thinks that we'll get better by testing. We test so much and it never seems to work. And he doesn't care about music theory, which is awful for a music teacher. He thinks that we can do nothing and gives us music that we played when we first started our instruments. doesnt explain dynamics.
cool guy, knows when to crack jokes and when to crack down. cool with you if you need to stop taking his class, loves you if you stay. best teacher i have ever had for music. runs an amazing jazz band
Really nice and funny, unless he is frustrated with the band. Good teacher, beware of his bad side.
Has mood swings; often seems to despair and get really upset when the band isn't performing up to his standards. Then again, he never really had 'standards' for Symphonic Band. Great guy, though.
Awesome teacher. He can be hilarious yet knows when to crack down. Seems stressed out often though, but people know when to take him seriously (or not seriously).
He is so cool!!! He can be pretty intimidating, especially if you're scale testing alone in a room...but he always makes things funny, and he makes the students take him seriously.
his mood changes easily. A lot of the times, he's really funny. Overall, i just think he's scary... probably because im a wimp
Ah Mr. Harshman... what to day. He's a really good teacher. He may seem hard and "harsh" as his last name applies, but really he justs wants us to be "the best"
disciplned, but cool...if your seriouse about music, there is no one else to go to
Harshman is AWESOME!!!! yes, he can be tough at times, but he really knos how 2 improve, and it really pays off!! and neways, one should practice! Angela Jin
Great teacher! I got out because of the stress...but he has the coolest personality!
Mr. Harshman is exactly what his name implies, harsh. Sometimes he can be very harsh and blunt, but only because he wants to push us beyond our limits. Jordan J
Oddly enough, I have been on much better terms with this guy since I left his class. He's a cool person, but he has high expectations that not all can fulfill.
this guy is insane, i got out of band because i couldnt take his mood-swings, and yelling, he was way too worked up, and mean at times.
don't get on his bad side, or else you will stay there. he's an awesome guy though if you're on his good side, and is a great help. he's helped me a lot.
