Definitely likes to run the show, but you'll learn a lot and be entertained. Does he "care" about students. Don't know. But he LOVES to teach. Clearly.
Obviously, none of these poeple have had a deep discussion with him. He is stubborn, and if you retaliate, he will fail you regardless of your grades.
AWESOME guy... if you're a Lower and in 200 with him, count yourself lucky and enjoy it.. Kalkstein is the best english teacher i've had at PA.. glad he's back!
oH oH~ mr. kalksteins amaZING! i had mr bardo last year and they're both so enthusiastic and hilarious that i now like english 1000 times more than before
We need to find him wherever he is on sabbatical, drag him back forcibly, and make him teach a senior elective spring term
mr. k is the BEST!! i really hope he is back next year so I can take a senior elective with him.
Mr. Kalkstein is the man! I had him Lower year, 1st period (word up!), and it was my favorite class of the day. He didn't care that I was terminally late to class and he was so much fun. If you get a chance, definitely take a class with him!
Easily the best english teacher i've had at this school. Mr. K makes class fun and exciting, and always picks interesting books to read. In 200 last we, we read Ridley Walker. Trubba Not to 2nd Period 2001-2002!
Even though I didn't get good grades in his class, he is a very witty guy who make English class fun and interesting
A campus legend. Take a class with him before you graduate, even if just to get to know him.
Whoa, this is totally my lower year english class. Yeah, Kalkstien was mad cool, I really wanted to take a Senior Elective from him. Underclassmen, when he comes back, take his class or you'll miss a great experience.
I got through Engl 200, because of Kalksteins teaching. He's really quirky, but in a good way. i love the fact that he graded papers using crayon
He's the best English teacher I've had here. he's the bomb-diggity!
Kalkstein was awesome and I'm so glad I took his class before graduating- he definitely understood what it was like to be a student, but also demonstrated his own love of the material to us...a great guy and definitely one you can't miss
Yet another school icon. Ask him sometime about his experience with Robert Frost. Unlike some teachers, he knows what is it like to be a student.
You must take a class of his before leaving the school.
he is cool...he teaches well, he's not uptight, and he gives you what you earn and a little higher.
