People really need to stop complaining about Dr. Kimmel. He is such a fun person, and amazing and funny memories are all I can think of as I'm writing this. I had Dr. Kimmel for Honors Chem, and while the class was hard, I got an A and can officially say Dr. Kimmel is my favorite teacher of ALL TIME. He helped me to develop my love of chemistry, and while he can be blunt and rude to slackers he is a genius and I miss him. If people had just done their work they would have done a lot better.

so basically doc well he is pretty tough especially if u dont understand the concepts quickly. he likes picking on ppl so u hav to be careful and read ahead or he'll make u seem stupid. just study and pay attention. dont ever fall asleep in his class or he'll say something about it. he has rlly good demonstrations better than anyone in the high school its just thats hes harsh and gets very frustrated easily but he is a genius at piano. tho he isnt very good at boosting confidence. class wuz okay

When I reflect on my highschool teachers, he is the worst one. By far. The only teacher to make me cry AND humiliate me in front on the class on the same day, Kimmel fails to understand that some students need further explaining. I advise other students to take care of his handouts, the only positive point in his class and read ahead so you know the answer when he calls on you.

Hmm... Doc Kimmel is a tough teacher. He's very good at what he does. So good, in fact, that he often expects higher of you. Basic concepts are hard to grasp when he introduces them. Get the concepts down in your head with his handouts (very helpful btw), then start to ask questions in class. Be warned that he is a VERY hard grader and will not hesitate to humiliate you in class if you ask a dumb question. MUCH harder than Bio Freshman year, but you'll get through it. Ask him for help if you need, he's smrt

I do not doubt that the doc is a smart man, but he is lacking in several areas as a teacher. He knows his chemistry definitely-- he has a phd in it... but he often forgets that other people do not. He speeds through material often leaving the majority of the class to fend for themselves. He shows blatant favoritism-- if he likes you, your set. If he doesn't, i would be prepared for a year of "getting on your case." And he doesn't know when to let up most of the time. Source: had him for 2 years: honors AP

He is kind of scary. he is a bit strange but reallly funny sometimes. His lectures get boring sometimes but he likes to have fun. He is only annoying and flips out on you during the first quarter but after that, he is cool. he goes really fast though so make sue you can keep up with his pace. make sure you write down and make a list of all of the corny sayings he says. he says things like "this is a sad day in the world of honors chemistry" or "sad sad state of affairs"...hes amazing!

He doesn't know how to speak English, let alone teach. His goal is to scout out the room for people to make fun of during class..lame. Who does he think he is telling students whether or not they will succeed in life? Trust your success to a high school chemistry teacher with a PhD? Accomplished much? Now, that is a "sad state of affairs". Don't take this guy, unless you like to teach yourself chemistry while laughing at the people who can't.

I had Doc K in 1984. He was awesome. I got a Ph.D. in Engineering and am a high school chemistry teacher now. I hope I'm as good as he was back then. I'm sure I won't be teaching as long as him though. God bless him for still putting up with it after all these years.

Does teach concepts very well the first time around. Occasionally rushes through things. Lets students answer and think conceptually...HOWEVER...if you don't get the concept right away, you better brace yourself. i can honestly say that i was one of those students who didn't always learn the concept in 2 seconds like he expects you to. this lack of patience is what puts him in his own "sad state of affairs". btw, forget going for extra help for exactly this reason but DO go to review your tests before schoo

Doctor K is definitely one of the best teachers of the subject of chemistry. A high school teacher....perhaps not. He can't teach motivation at all, which is crucial in HS.
