Mr. Ryan is a good role model and a man of conscience. He’s a pretty square shooter and can figure out where you’re at, perhaps before you do. He inspires, points you in the direction of your ta

Mr. Ryan is one of the worst teachers I've ever had. He's biased, unfair, dull, and overall not a good speaker. I find it funny that he could actually be considered a decent speech teacher.

Mr Ryan makes up the lamest reasons to mark you down on a paper, project or speech. he always cuts you off and says that nomatter what you are responsible for EVERYTHING. he is completely two dimentional in his thinking and refuses to see things your way on most issues. And he definetly grades you down on the dumbest things like a prop for a speech. perfect score on everything else but the prop. and it was a perfectly good prop. its like he perposly looks for things to mark you down on.

The student who posted on 6/02/05 has it dead on the mark. I'm in his speech class as well and it is TERRIBLE. He has a bad grasp of the language he's teaching and grades down for things that have NO application to the course (i.e. not putting a name on BOTH sides of a worksheet). I'm in this class to learn speech, not how to fill out tax forms. He also tries to start shouting matches whenever I attempt to politely explain how I did an assignment, constantly cutting me off and raising his voice. F-

Seems to me he's just there for the job, not trying to do anything extra, really, for the students. Then again... This was only my first day in his written course.

He gets boring and sometimes I don't know what hes talking about. He also grades a little strict and forgets to tell us stuff. He works at a nice slow pace when going through speeches.

Mr. Ryan may be strict on teaching but if you come in for help, you will do better in his class. I started out with a C in Written but ended up with a B at the end of 1st Semester because I asked him to look over my rough drafts.
