Awful and rude teacher.
HATE THE WAY SHE TEACHES.
I've never actually had her, but have heard awful things about her. She gives my best friend anxiety and he already goes to therapy so her presence in really unhealthy for him. She's anti-semitic and racist (she once told a Jewish student to "get over" the Holocaust). She's honestly the worst person. stuck up, obnoxious, self-centered, and needs a bra.
She is stuck up, rude, and pretends to be some all knowing ruler. She listens to nobody and makes up long excuses for her mistakes. A terrible conductor, leader, and communicator. It says something that she has a personal problem with the AP of music and constantly tries to backstab her if she can. Highly manipulative and sociopathic woman.
Where do I begin? She has no ability to teach, and it is embarrassing to see her slobber over all the string players in our theory class(not to mention those players don't even like her anyways). Never offers help to those who need it and struggle in her class, and is a snobby and condescending person as well. Never once was I offered words of encouragement and support in her class, let alone actual teaching and educational value. The sooner she leaves that school, the better
She is by far the worst teacher i have ever met. She makes fun of the kids, calls herself the "tyrant" and the student her personal pesants. She has no respect for the students and is the most competitive, snbbish woman i ever met. None of the teachers in the instrumental department like her and she kisses up. She doesn't have the ear to listen to people and discourages the students by calling them "stupid"". oh and let me tell you, her viola skills are terrible and her ears are no good.
I happen to think Dr Washington is a great teacher. She may not be the best conductor, but she is a very good violist and knows a lot about music. I also like how she offers her students to come to her shows. She is also very easy to talk to, you just have to get on her good side!
ugh she was so mean to me. because of her, i quit music. her classes were an absolute waste of time for me.
I really don't know what to say. She's smart, and sort of wise, and she has good ideas...but she CANNOT control a class or orchestra at all. Orchestra 7 is just...ugh. She also plays favorites with the strings, which isn't too wonderful for the winds players who will probably play for 8 minutes during the concert...
I'm not sure what to think. She obviously picks favorites and I feel that it's not fair. She also doesn't have a lot of patience, especially when we're sight reading... maybe things will change...?
Theory is another realm in this world. There's so much to do and know. She runs through a lot of things and expects us to teach ourselfs. "when in doubt, follow instructions." What instructions?
Eh, I'm a freshman now and I don't think she really likes us, she probably knows we're better than most of the older orchestra members but she has favorites of the older ppl. Sometimes she doesn't listen right. Not a good conductor. Either the orchestra is slow or she is. =/
I graduated in 2001 and she was my favorite music teacher. she was amazing and because of her I am a music teacher today!
Why do folks insist on talking about everything..it shows they know but have no humility
doc wash is a very smart woman but can be a little annoying at times. ive learned a lot from her and she gives really good grades. she's a good music history teacher but is a mediocre conductor
Intellectual teacher; knowledgable about many things. She's a good teacher when you have your head on straight. The truth is you can find faults in everyone. To concentrate on those is unfortunate.
SHE is the best music teacher/person in the world. She knows her stuff and wants her students to learn
heh she cant catch me chewing gum..well no teacher can...hah she little mean and threatens her students thats shes gonna shoot them..i thought she was joking but she said it twice to a kid...kinda sa
she's really easy but she cannot conduct and she is not understanding and she can't teac
Umm Orch 8?? Worst conductor and attitude I have ever experianced in an orchestral setting. Cannot conduct for her life, and makes nasty remarks.
She's a great theory teacher, i hope i get her for Music history. However as far as conducting, it's something she need not do.
good teacher u learn theroy but dont ask 2 mant questions or she'll tell you 2 think. dont give her attitude but u can b funny
She established herself as the enemy in the begining. we need a conducter, not a teacher. Shes the reason for viola jokes. When in doubt, follow instructions
She is one of the greatest teachers of all time. I learned so much from her class. i was really happy when i got her again next semester. she knows her stuff.
She's a good teacher.. learned a lot of theory.. though it was erased by the infamous, Mr. Smith. It's great when she catches people chewing gum.
i dun like her much...shes really mean sometimes.....she doesnt answer questions and just critizisez people in my class at least...
shes tough teacher but somehow one of the best ones too:)
when it comes to the work, she is an excellent teacher. however, she thinks she knows everything and that can be extremely annoying at times.
I loved her. She was great and gave me a lot of courage to be me. I am so happy that she is well regarded here...
You will learn theory in her class, even though her sarcasm is not appreciated!
she's really nice, but she gets annoying someimes....
